【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=영진전문대학교가 만학의 어려움을 극복하고 대기업 취업이라는 결실을 이뤄낸 졸업생들의 소식을 전했다.

13일 영진전문대에 따르면 신종현씨, 김현녕씨, 한민국씨는 일과 학습을 병행한 끝에 늦은 나이로 졸업하게 됐다.

이들은 고교 졸업 후 기업체에서 다년간 근무한 경험이 있으며, 전문성을 높이기 위해 일과 학습을 병행한 끝에 대기업 취업에 성공했다.

포항 특성화고를 졸업 후 제철회사에 재직하던 신종현 씨는 더 나은 근무 환경을 목표로 2023년 AI융합기계계열 스마트CAD/CAM과에 입학했다. 

그는 ‘재직자평생학습과정’ 학생으로 주중에는 온라인 강의를 듣고, 주말마다 포항과 대구를 오가며 학업에 매진한 결과 지난해 9월 SK에너지에 최종 합격, 입사했다

김현녕 씨는 전기차 모터제조 회사에 취업했지만, 교대 근무로 인해 건강이 악화되면서 퇴사를 결정했다. 이후 2023년 로봇자동화과에 입학한 그는 현장 경험이 풍부한 교수진의 지도 아래 실무 능력을 키웠고 지난달 기아자동차에 입사하는 기쁨을 누렸다.

구미공단의 기업체에서 8년간 근무한 한민국 씨는 2023년 스마트CAD/CAM과에 입학했다. 일과 학업을 병행하는 ‘재직자평생학습과정’을 통해 주중에는 온라인 강의를 듣고, 주말마다 대구로 이동하는 생활을 이어갔다.

그 결과 산업안전산업기사, 설비보전산업기사 등의 자격증을 취득하며 실력을 쌓았고, 지난해 9월 김천의 코오롱이앤피에 성공적으로 입사했다.

영진전문대학교 관계자는 “이들의 성공 스토리는 앞으로 도전하는 학생들에게 귀감이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 현장 맞춤형 교육을 더욱 강화해 실무 역량을 갖춘 명품 인재를 양성하겠다”고 밝혔다.
