이날 행사에는 경북도 (재)독도재단을 비롯한 울릉군, 울릉군의회, 울릉도 내 기관 및 단체장, 주민 등 100여 명이 참여하여 한마음회관 다목적홀을 가득 메웠다. 참가자들은 일본의 억지 주장과 해가 갈수록 거듭되는 거짓 논리를 강력히 비판하며 한목소리로 규탄했다.

결의 대회에서는 시마네현의 "다케시마(죽도)의 날" 조례 제정 철회와 함께 일본의 과거 침략사 및 독도를 일본 고유영토로 왜곡한 초‧중‧고등학교 교과서와 학습지도요령 해설서의 폐지 등 역사 왜곡 망언을 즉각 중단할 것을 강력히 촉구했다. 또한, 한일 간 우호적인 지역교류와 협력의 시대로 나아가자고 촉구했다.

(사)푸른울릉독도가꾸기회 정석두 회장은 "독도재단을 비롯한 관련 기관·단체는 일본의 독도 침탈 야욕에 맞서 독도 유인도화 사업, 독도 생태계 보존 및 관리, 독도 식·육림 사업, 독도의용수비대 정신 계승 사업 등을 계속해서 추진할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.

남한권 울릉군수는 “독도의 이름을 바꿔 '다케시마의 날'로 시마네현에서 일방적으로 제정하고 매년 행사를 진행하는 것은 한일 간 건전한 우호관계를 저해하는 행위"라며, "이런 행사와 부당한 영토권 주장을 즉각 중단하고 관련 조례도 폐지할 것을 강력히 촉구한다"고 말했다.

Ulleung County Holds Resolution Rally to Denounce Japan's Enactment of "Takeshima Day" Ordinance

On February 22nd at 11:00 AM, Ulleung County held a resolution rally at the Ulleung Hanmaeum Hall, hosted by the Blue Ulleung Dokdo Creation Association, to strongly condemn Japan's absurd "Takeshima (Dokdo) Day" ordinance.

Jeong Seok-du, the chairman of the Blue Ulleung Dokdo Creation Association, stated that "related organizations and groups, including the Dokdo Foundation, will continue to promote projects to humanize Dokdo, preserve and manage the Dokdo ecosystem, plant and farm Dokdo, and inherit the spirit of the Dokdo Volunteer Defense Corps in order to counter Japan's ambitions to invade Dokdo."

The Ulleung County Governor of Namhan Gwon said, “Shimane Prefecture unilaterally designated ‘Takeshima Day’ by changing the name of Dokdo and holding an event every year is an act that undermines the sound friendly relations between Korea and Japan,” and “We strongly urge that such events and unfair territorial claims be stopped immediately and that the related ordinance be abolished.”
