브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 이재명 더불어민주당 대표의 '엔비디아 같은 회사 생기면 30%는 국민에 나누자'는 발언을 놓고 여권을 중심으로 비판이 일자, 더불어민주당이 4일 "무지한 비난"이라며 반발했다.

조승래 민주당 수석대변인은 이날 서면 브리핑을 통해 "국민펀드로 엔비디아 같은 기업을 키워야 한다는 이 대표의 화두를 놓고 유승민 전 (국민의힘) 의원, 이준석 (개혁신당) 의원, 오세훈 (서울)시장 등 전현직 국민의힘 인사들이 황당무계한 비난을 쏟아냈다"라며 "존재하는 기업을 '뜯어먹겠다'느니 '지분을 비정상적으로 확보하겠다는 발상'이라느니 하는 주장은 무지한 비난"이라고 비판했다.

또 "투자를 이야기하는데 '사회주의'가 난데없이 왜 나오나? 아무 말 대잔치가 따로 없다"라고 했다.

조 수석대변인은 "이 대표가 제안한 것은 첨단 미래 기술력을 국가 주도의 적극적인 투자로 확보하고 그렇게 창출해 낸 성과를 국민과 함께 나누자는 것이다. 이게 어려운 말인가?"라며 "야당 대표를 헐뜯고 발언을 곡해할 시간에 제대로 된 비전을 제시해 보라"라고 지적했다.

이어 "AI(인공지능) 투자에 대한 성과를 국민이 함께 나누는 것도 당연하다. 투자가 있었다면, 그 성과를 투자자들이 나누는 것이 시장 원리"라며 "전 세계적으로 운용되며 투자 성과를 국민과 나누는 각국의 연금기금도 반시장적이라고 우길 셈인가?"라고 반문했다.

그러면서 "무책임한 생트집으로 시간을 허비하지 말고, AI 강국을 위한 적극적인 투자 방안을 함께 모색하는 것이 책임 있는 정치인의 모습이라는 점을 명심하기 바란다"라고 밝혔다.

앞서 이 대표는 지난 2일 민주당 유튜브 방송에서 "(한국에) 엔비디아 같은 회사가 하나 생긴다면, 그중 70%는 민간이 가지고 30%는 국민 모두가 나누면 굳이 세금에 의존하지 않아도 되는 사회가 오지 않을까"라고 말했다.
