오밤중에 군사작전 헬리콥터를 타고 무장한 군인이 국회 마당에 내린 순간, 윤석열 대통령은 대한민국 대통령이 아니었다.

국회와 선관위를 침탈하여 국헌을 문란케 하고 국법 준수 의무를 방기한 범죄자로 기록될 것이다.

지난 칼럼에서 언급했듯이, 법 전문가가 아니더라도 헌법과 계엄법을 살펴보면 일반 국민도 대통령이 파면을 피할 수 없음을 알 수 있다. 하물며 법률가인 헌법재판소 재판관이 이를 모를 리 없다. 설령 여당이 추천한 재판관이라 해도, 법률가로서의 명예를 버리기는 쉽지 않기 때문이다.

더구나 여당의 대통령 후보 움직임을 보아도 파면을 기정사실화하는 모습을 보이는 것이 이런 이유일 것이다.

이제 대한민국 대통령의 시간이 돌아왔다. 대략 5월 10일에서 20일 사이가 될 것이다.

그런데 대통령을 꿈꾸는 정치인은 보이지만, 정작 잠룡(潛龍)은 보이지 않는다.

다음 세대만을 위하는 정치가는 보이지 않고, 다음 선거와 사익만을 위하는 정치인만 보인다. 예전에는 조직을 이끌고 여론을 주도하는 인물을 잠룡이라 했지만, 지금은 국민의 안정적 삶과 행복을 우선으로 생각하는 정치가를 잠룡이라 여긴다. 그러나 그런 인물이 없다는 것이다.

그를 주목해야 하는 또 하나의 이유는 보좌역이다.
