【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=한국장학재단(이사장 배병일)은 지난 3월 5일 주한 프랑스 관광청(한국지사장 코린 풀키에)과 국가근로장학사업 활성화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

주한 프랑스 관광청은 2021년부터 한국장학재단이 운영하는 국가근로장학사업에 참여해 대학생들의 글로벌 역량 강화를 지원하고 있다. 이 사업은 대학생들이 주한 외국 공공기관 등에서 근무하며 외국어 학습과 문화를 체험하고 글로벌 역량을 강화할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 한국장학재단은 외국 기관들의 참여를 확대하여 학생들에게 양질의 근로 기회를 제공하고 있으며, 근로시간에 비례하여 국가근로장학금을 지원하고 있다.

이번 협약을 통해 양 기관은 향후 두 나라의 고등교육 학생지원 경험과 지식을 교류하고, 학생지원 프로그램을 발전시키기 위해 상호 협력하기로 했다.

배병일 한국장학재단 이사장은 “국제 및 외국어 역량을 갖춘 학생들에게 좋은 직업 체험 기회를 제공할 수 있도록 주한 프랑스 관광청과 협력하게 되어 매우 기쁘다”며, “앞으로도 우리 대학생들이 다양하고 질 높은 직업 체험을 할 수 있도록 양 기관이 함께 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

코린 풀키에 주한 프랑스 관광청 지사장은 “국가근로장학생으로 근무했던 학생이 현재 우리 관광청의 직원으로 정식 채용되어 인연을 이어가고 있다”며, “앞으로 국가근로장학사업의 우수성을 대사관 등 유관 기관에 공유하여, 한국장학재단과 한국 대학생들의 글로벌 역량을 키우는 데 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

Korea Scholarship Foundation, France Tourism Office in Korea Sign Business Agreement to Activate National Work-Study Program

On March 5, the Korea Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Bae Byung-il) signed a business agreement with the France Tourism Office in Korea (CEO Corinne Foulquier) to revitalize the National Work-Study Program.

The France Tourism Office in Korea has been participating in the National Work-Study Program operated by the Korea Scholarship Foundation since 2021 to support the strengthening of global capabilities of university students. This program aims to provide opportunities for university students to learn foreign languages, experience culture, and strengthen global capabilities while working at foreign public institutions in Korea. The Korea Scholarship Foundation is expanding the participation of foreign institutions to provide students with quality work opportunities and is supporting national work-study programs in proportion to the number of working hours.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to exchange experiences and knowledge in supporting higher education students in the two countries and to cooperate with each other to develop student support programs.

Bae Byung-il, Chairman of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, said, “We are very pleased to be working with the French Tourism Office in Korea to provide excellent job experience opportunities to students with international and foreign language skills,” and added, “We will continue to work together to provide diverse and high-quality job experiences to our college students.”

Corinne Pulquier, Director of the French Tourism Office in Korea, said, “A student who worked as a national work-study student is currently employed as an official employee of our tourism office, continuing our relationship,” and added, “We hope to share the excellence of the national work-study program with embassies and other related organizations in the future, and contribute to fostering the global capabilities of the Korea Student Aid Foundation and Korean college students.”
