【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=이강덕 포항시장은 10일 이달 말 개소를 앞두고 있는 북구보건소 및 트라우마센터의 신축 현장을 방문해 관계자들을 격려했다.

북구보건소 및 트라우마센터는 총사업비 420억 원을 투입해 2022년 11월 착공, 올해 2월 준공을 마친 후 지하 2층, 지상 6층, 연면적 1만 3,763㎡ 규모로 완공됐다. 이 시설은 지역 주민들에게 보다 나은 보건의료서비스를 제공하고, 의료취약지역의 의료공백을 해소하기 위해 설계됐다.

시설 내부에는 1층에 어린이 건강 체험관, 스마트 건강 체험관, 통합 건강 증진실, 스트레스 측정실, 힐링 카페, 쉼터 등 시민들이 쉽게 접근하고 건강관리를 할 수 있는 공간이 마련된다. 

또한, 2층에는 어르신과 모자 건강관리를 위한 한방진료실과 치매관리실, 정신건강 증진을 위한 마음케어룸, 심신안정실, 프로그램실 등이 배치된다. 

3층과 4층은 진료공간으로 사용되며, 예방과 치료를 아우르는 맞춤형 공공보건의료서비스를 제공할 예정이다. 이곳에는 음압설비를 갖춘 선별진료소도 운영돼 신종 감염병 위기 대응체계를 강화한다.

이강덕 시장은 현장에서 "보건소와 센터의 신청사 이전으로 시민들이 불편을 겪지 않도록 최선을 다할 것이며, 시민들이 생활 가까이에서 의료보건 편의를 누릴 수 있도록 막바지 준비에 총력을 기울여 달라"고 당부했다.

이어 이 시장은 "북구보건소 및 트라우마센터가 열린 건강문화 공간으로 자리 잡아 시민들에게 보다 나은 보건의료서비스를 제공하고, 의료취약지역의 의료공백을 해소하는 데 중요한 역할을 할 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.

북구보건소는 오는 26일부터 30일까지 이전을 마친 후, 31일부터 신청사에서 업무를 시작할 예정이다. 현재의 장성동 청사는 건강생활지원센터로 개보수돼, 만성질환 예방과 건강증진사업을 중심으로 운영될 계획이다.
