【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=교육부, 경상북도, 안동시는 지난 10일, 국립경북대 국제교류관에서 ‘제8회 세계인문학포럼’의 성공적인 개최를 위한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다.

11일 경북도에 따르면 세계인문학포럼은 국내외 인문학 성과를 공유하고, 세계 석학들과의 교류를 통해 인문학 가치를 확산하는 국제적 학술 행사로, 격년마다 열리며 올해 하반기에 개최된다. 

이번 협약을 통해 세 기관은 원활한 행사 진행을 위한 협력체계를 다지고, 국내외 연사와 참가자 편의를 위한 교통, 숙박, 관광 지원을 공동으로 추진한다.

또한, 인문학 연구자와 시민이 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 마련해 포럼의 대중적 접근성을 높일 계획이다. 경상북도는 이번 포럼을 통해 지역의 문화적 가치와 인문학적 전통을 세계에 알리고, 지역경제 및 관광 산업 활성화에도 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

이주호 교육부 장관은 “제8회를 맞이하는 세계인문학포럼이 유구한 역사와 전통, 뛰어난 문화유산이 숨 쉬는 유서 깊은 도시 안동에서 개최하게 되어 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다”며, “기관 간 소통과 협력을 통해 성공적인 개최로 경상북도 안동시가 인문학으로 세계와 소통할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이철우 경상북도지사는 “이번 제8회 세계인문학포럼을 통해 경상북도와 안동시가 세계 인문학 발전에 큰 역할을 기대한다”며, “지역의 인문학 기반을 활용해 역대 세계인문학포럼 가운데 가장 성공적인 행사가 되도록 준비에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
