【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)는 2025년 RISE(지역혁신중심 대학지원체계) 사업에서 5개 과제가 모두 선정되며, 경상북도(구미시, 김천시, 칠곡군)와 함께 지역 혁신을 추진한다.

금오공대는 이번 평가에서 신청한 5개 단위 과제가 모두 선정되어, 총 400억 원(연 80억 원) 규모의 사업비를 확보하게 되었다. 이를 바탕으로 대학을 중심으로 하는 지역 혁신 생태계를 조성하고, 지속 가능한 지역 성장의 발판을 마련할 계획이다.

선정된 5개 과제는 다음과 같다:

아이디어 창업밸리 구축: 경북 서부권 산업 기반의 혁신 창업 생태계 구현, 지역 성장혁신 LAB 구축: 지역 8대 주력산업과 연계된 장비·시설·인력·특허 등을 개방하는 기업 지원 플랫폼 구축, 특화산업 Scale-Up: 반도체와 방산 특화분야의 앵커기업 육성을 통해 구미 산업단지의 재도약을 추진,MEGAversity 연합대학 형성: 우수 유학생 유입과 청년 인구 정주율 향상을 통해 지역 산업 맞춤형 인재 양성, 특성화 대학: 기업 밀착형 AI로봇산업 인재 양성을 위한 특성화 대학 구축 등 이다.

금오공대는 학생·교원 창업 및 예비·초기 창업자의 원스톱 지원과 지역 기업 기술 이전 등을 통해 경북 서부권 산업을 기반으로 한 혁신 창업 생태계를 구축할 계획이다. 또한, 구미형 사회통합 모델을 통해 우수 유학생을 유치하고, 그들이 지역사회에 정착할 수 있도록 지원하여 수요 맞춤형 인재를 양성할 예정이다.

대학 자원의 개방과 공유를 통한 기업 부설 연구소화 및 치밀한 산학협력 체계 구축은 지방 소멸과 산업 위기를 극복하는 중요한 발판이 될 것으로 기대된다.

Kumoh National Institute of Technology plans to build an innovative startup ecosystem based on the Gyeongbuk western region industry through one-stop support for student and faculty startups and prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs, as well as technology transfers from regional companies. In addition, it plans to attract excellent international students through the Gumi-type social integration model and support them to settle in the local community, thereby fostering talent tailored to demand.
