【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 오는 29일 오전 9시 30분부터 오후 1시까지 ‘제41회 코오롱 구간 마라톤 대회’를 개최한다.

17일 경주시에 따르면 이번 대회는 대한육상연맹, 코오롱, KBS, 조선일보가 공동 주최하고, 경상북도육상연맹이 주관하며, 문화체육관광부, 경상북도, 경주시가 후원한다.

국내 유망 선수들이 출전하는 이번 대회에는 △고등부 21개 팀 △중등부 24개 팀 △일반부 15개 팀 등 총 60개 팀 500여 명의 선수들이 참가한다. 경기 구간은 경주시 코오롱호텔 삼거리를 출발해 시내를 한 바퀴 돈 후 다시 도착하는 코스로, 종목별로 거리가 다르게 운영된다. 고등부와 일반부는 총 6개 구간 42.195km, 중등부는 총 4개 구간 15km(코오롱호텔 삼거리 ↔ 신평교 반환점)에서 경기가 펼쳐진다.

이번 대회는 KBS를 통해 전국에 생중계되며, 경주의 아름다운 역사·문화·관광 자원을 널리 알리는 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다. 또한, 선수단과 관계자들의 방문이 지역경제 활성화에도 기여할 것으로 경주시는 예상하고 있다.

경주시는 대회의 원활한 진행을 위해 각 부서 및 유관 기관과 협력해 △교통 통제 근무 지원 △교통지도 차량 배치 및 주·정차 지도 △대회 전후 코스 환경정비 등을 추진할 계획이다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “올해로 41회를 맞은 코오롱 구간 마라톤 대회는 스포츠 도시 경주의 위상을 높이고, 지역 관광과 경제에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 기대한다”며, “성공적인 대회 운영을 위해 시민 여러분의 많은 관심과 협조를 부탁드린다”고 강조했다.

Gyeongju City to hold '41st Kolon Section Marathon' on the 29th

Gyeongju City will hold the '41st Kolon Section Marathon' from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM on the 29th.

According to Gyeongju City on the 17th, this competition is jointly hosted by the Korea Athletics Federation, Kolon, KBS, and Chosun Ilbo, organized by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Athletics Federation, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gyeongju City.

A total of 60 teams and 500 athletes will participate in this competition, which features promising domestic athletes: △21 high school teams, △24 middle school teams, and △15 general teams. The competition section starts at the Kolon Hotel intersection in Gyeongju City, circles the city, and then returns, with different distances for each event. The high school and general divisions will be held in 6 sections totaling 42.195 km, and the middle school division will be held in 4 sections totaling 15 km (Kolon Hotel intersection ↔ Shinpyeong Bridge turnaround point).

This competition will be broadcast live nationwide through KBS, and is expected to be an opportunity to widely publicize Gyeongju’s beautiful history, culture, and tourism resources. In addition, Gyeongju City expects that the visit of the athletes and officials will contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.

Gyeongju City plans to cooperate with each department and related organizations to promote the following for the smooth operation of the competition: △ Traffic control support, △ Traffic guidance vehicle placement and parking guidance, and △ Course environment maintenance before and after the competition.
