【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)은 3월 24일 오후 3시, 군위군청에서 강은희 교육감과 김진열 군위군수를 비롯한 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 군위군 학교복합시설 ‘아이사랑 키움터’사업 추진을 위한 실시협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

‘학교복합시설사업’은 교육청 소관 공유재산의 유휴공간을 활용하여 지자체와 협력해 교육, 문화, 복지 시설을 복합적으로 설치함으로써 학교와 지역 주민이 함께 사용하는 공간을 만들어 지역 공동체 형성에 기여하는 사업이다.

이번 군위군 학교복합시설사업은 삼국유사군위도서관의 유휴부지를 활용해 어린이 도서관, 키즈카페 등 어린이 복합문화공간을 건립하는 사업으로, 지역 내 돌봄과 육아 사각지대 해소를 목표로 추진된다. 이를 통해 지역 정주여건 개선에도 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.

대구시교육청은 지난해 9월 이 사업이 교육부 공모사업에 선정되었고, 이후 재정투자심사와 공유재산심의 등의 행정 절차를 완료했다. 이번 실시협약을 통해 두 기관은 사업시행 방안, 시설 및 부지 소유권, 각 기관의 의무와 책임 범위 등을 명확히 하고, 사업의 성공적인 추진을 위해 지속적인 협력체계를 구축할 예정이다.

총 사업비는 128억 원으로, 교육청과 군위군은 각각 64억 원씩 부담하며, 교육청은 시설 부지를 제공하고, 군위군은 시설 공사 및 운영을 담당한다.

대구시교육청은 또한, 2023년부터 서구, 달성군, 군위군과 협력해 5개 학교복합시설사업을 추진 중이며, 최근 북구에서 2025년 1차 교육부 학교복합시설 공모사업에 신청해 결과를 기다리고 있다.

강은희 교육감은 “지난해부터 군위초·중·고 거점학교 육성, IB 프로그램 도입 등 군위군을 타지역에서 교육을 위해 찾아오는 명품 교육도시로 만들기 위해 노력하고 있다”며, “이번 협약을 바탕으로 군위군과 함께 힘을 모아 군위지역의 주민 정주여건 개선을 위해 학교복합시설사업을 성공적으로 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee said, “Since last year, we have been working to make Gunwi-gun a prestigious educational city that people from other regions come to for education, such as fostering Gunwi Elementary, Middle, and High School as hub schools and introducing the IB program,” and added, “Based on this agreement, we will join forces with Gunwi-gun to successfully promote the school complex facility project to improve the living conditions of residents in the Gunwi area.”
