【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도는 25일 산업통상자원부, 국토교통부, 문화체육관광부가 공동 추진하는 ‘2025년도 문화를 담은 산업단지 조성 공모’에 선정돼,  총사업비 949억원(국비 525억, 지방비 424억)을 확보했다.

26일 경북도에 따르면 이번 공모에는 전국 8개 신청 지역 중 3개소만 선정되었으며, 경북은 구미 국가1산단이 선정됐다.

구미 국가1산단은 대한민국 최초의 국가 산업단지로, 그동안 섬유산업과 전자산업 발전의 중심지였으나, 문화 편의시설 부족과 노후화된 기반시설로 인해 청년층의 기피와 입주 기업들의 인력난을 겪고 있었다. 하지만 이번 공모 사업을 통해 구미 국가1산단은 문화 선도 산단으로 탈바꿈하게 된다.

이번 선정으로 구미 국가1산단은 고유의 정체성, 역사성, 문화를 반영한 통합 브랜드(명칭, 로고, 색채, 디자인, 스토리 등)를 개발하고, 산업단지를 대표하는 랜드마크와 테마 공간, 필요한 기반 시설들이 구축될 예정이다. 또한, 근로자와 가족을 위한 다양한 공연, 전시, 체험 및 문화 프로그램이 제공되어 산업단지 근로자와 주민들이 일상 속에서 문화를 향유할 수 있는 기회가 확대된다.

특히, 랜드마크 사업은 구미 국가1산단의 산업 유산인 방림 부지에 공장의 원형을 보존하면서, 청년 수요를 반영한 지역 문화, 창업 공간 및 문화시설이 집적된 특화 공간으로 조성된다. 이를 통해 구미1산단은 지역사회와 조화를 이루는 새로운 문화 중심지로 자리 잡을 전망이다.

이철우 경상북도지사는 “이번 문화 선도 산단 공모사업을 통해 청년층의 문화·여가·편의시설과 문화 프로그램을 확충하고, 산업과 문화가 조화를 이루는 매력적인 산업단지로 만들어 기업과 근로자 모두가 만족할 수 있는 환경을 구축하겠다”고 말했다.

However, due to the lack of cultural facilities and aging infrastructure, it has been experiencing avoidance by the younger generation and labor shortages among companies moving in. However, through this competition, Gumi National Industrial Complex 1 will be transformed into a culturally leading industrial complex.

With this selection, Gumi National Industrial Complex 1 will develop an integrated brand (name, logo, color, design, story, etc.) that reflects its unique identity, history, and culture, and will build landmarks, theme spaces, and necessary infrastructure representing the industrial complex. In addition, various performances, exhibitions, experiences, and cultural programs for workers and their families will be provided, expanding opportunities for workers and residents of the industrial complex to enjoy culture in their daily lives.

In particular, the landmark project will preserve the original form of the factory on the Bangrim site, an industrial heritage of Gumi National Industrial Complex 1, while creating a specialized space that reflects the needs of young people, including local culture, startup spaces, and cultural facilities. Through this, Gumi National Industrial Complex 1 is expected to establish itself as a new cultural center that harmonizes with the local community.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo said, “Through this Cultural Leading Industrial Complex Competition, we will expand cultural, leisure, and convenience facilities and cultural programs for young people, and create an attractive industrial complex where industry and culture are in harmony, creating an environment that satisfies both companies and workers.”
