대구경제정의실천연합은 “홍준표 대구시장의 이러한 발언은 채용비리라는 ‘자백’이 아닐 수 없다”고 지적했다.

그러면서 “홍준표 대구시장의 자백은 정치인 홍준표의 세계관과 도덕성을 적나라하게 드러낸 일”이라며 “홍준표 시장의 대구시장직, 대구시정, 인사에 대한 태도와 민선8기 대구시정의 실상을 그대로 보여준 사례”라고 꼬집었다.

또한 “자백이 모두 사실이라면 대구시의 뉴미디어팀장 채용은 관련법령을 위반한 채용비리”라며 “홍준표 대구시장이 담당공무원에게 김 모씨를 미디어팀장 채용을 지시했다면 이는 직권남용에 해당되는 범죄행위”라고 강조했다.

경실련은 “김 모씨를 뉴미디어팀장 채용 철회하는 선에서 해소될 수 있는 일은 아니다”며 “채용비리 의혹의 진상과 책임을 규명하기 위한 활동을 전개할 것”이라고 전했다.
