【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=신생아 학대 논란으로 경찰 수사를 받고 있는 대구가톨릭대병원 간호사가 파면됐다.

11일 대구가톨릭대병원은 논란이 된 간호사 A씨를 최고 중징계인 파면 조치했다고 밝혔다.

앞서 대구가톨릭대병원 신생아중환자실에 근무하는 간호사 A씨는 자신의 SNS에 신생아사진과 함께 조롱하거나 학대하는 듯 한 글을 게시해 논란을 빚었다.

피해 환아의 부모는 2일 간호사 A씨와 대학병원장을 아동복지법 위반 혐의로 경찰에 고소했고 경찰은 4일 간호사 A씨의 자택과 휴대전화 등을 압수수색했다. 간호사 A씨가 파면 조치된 날은 경찰로부터 압수수색을 받은 날이다.

병원 측 관계자는 “이번 사건으로 대구가톨릭대학병원은 산정할 수 없는 심각한 피해를 입었다”며 “보건당국과 경찰의 조사에 따라 필요한 법률적 후속 조치를 취할 예정”이라고 밝혔다.

다만 “간호사 자격 박탈 등은 병원 측에서 할 수 있는 부분이 아니다”고 설명했다.

병원 측은 자체 조사를 통해 신생아들의 사진을 SNS에 올린 간호사 2명을 추가로 확인했다.  

경찰은 피해 환아가 최소 5~6명은 되는 것 같다는 피해 환아 부모 측 주장에 따라 아동학대를 방조하거나 가담한 간호사가 더 있는지도 수사하고 있다.

The hospital has additionally identified two nurses who posted photos of newborns on social media through its own investigation.

Police are also investigating whether there are additional nurses who assisted or participated in child abuse, based on the claims of the parents of the victims that there were at least five or six victims.
