이날 남한권 군수와 울릉군 관계자들은 기재부 문화예산과, 기후환경예산과, 농림해양예산과 등을 차례로 방문하여 내년도 주요 투자 사업의 필요성과 당위성을 설명하고, 실무자들과의 면담을 통해 심도 있는 의견을 교환했다.

울릉군이 이번에 건의한 주요 사업은 ▲울릉군 하수찌꺼기 처리시설 설치사업(115억 원), ▲울릉 복합도시 공원 조성 사업(300억 원), ▲제1차 국토외곽먼섬 종합발전계획에 반영할 10대 중점사업(총 3,170억 원 규모) 등으로, 지역의 현안 해결과 지속가능한 발전을 위한 핵심 과제들이다.

남한권 울릉군수는 “국내 경기침체와 내국세 감소로 인해 지방교부세가 줄어드는 어려운 상황 속에서, 지역 현안 사업을 안정적으로 추진하기 위해서는 국비 확보가 반드시 필요하다”며 “앞으로도 국회와 중앙부처를 직접 찾아가는 발로 뛰는 행정을 통해 적극적으로 설득하고 협조를 요청할 것”이라고 강조했다.

울릉군은 향후에도 국비 예산 확보를 위해 지속적으로 중앙정부와의 협의 및 대응 체계를 강화할 방침이다.
