24일 국회 소통관에서 열린 기자회견에는 이강덕 포항시장, 김일만 포항시의회 의장, 김정재·이상휘 국회의원이 참석해 공동 입장문을 통해 “2017년 포항지진은 단순한 자연재해가 아닌, 정부의 부실한 관리로 인한 국가적 재난이었다”며 “이번 항소심은 정부 책임을 분명히 가를 중대한 분기점”이라고 밝혔다.
