【브레이크뉴스 영주】이성현 기자=꽃분홍 철쭉이 장관을 이루는 소백산에서 가족과 함께 봄을 만끽할 수 있는 축제가 열린다. ‘2025 영주 소백산 철쭉제’가 오는 5월 31일부터 6월 1일까지 이틀간 영주시 소백산 일대와 영일둔치에서 다채롭게 펼쳐진다.

이번 축제는 영주시가 주최하고 (재)영주문화관광재단이 주관하며, 철쭉이 절정을 이루는 시기에 맞춰 자연 속 힐링과 도심 속 즐길 거리를 동시에 제공하는 다양한 프로그램이 마련됐다.

행사 첫날인 31일 오전 8시에는 희방탐방지원센터 앞 주차장에서 ‘웰컴 투 소백산’이란 이름으로 탐방객 환영행사가 열린다. 이 자리에서는 안전산행 캠페인, SNS 팔로우 이벤트, 철쭉 사진전 등이 진행되며, 풍기역과 삼가야영장에서는 ‘소백철쭉갤러리’와 ‘철쭉 부채 만들기 체험’이 방문객의 발길을 붙잡는다.

오전 10시부터는 희방사역에서 죽령까지 이어지는 ‘죽령옛길 걷기’ 체험이 진행된다. 참가자들은 삼행시 짓기, 주먹밥 만들기, 퇴계 선생 포토존 등 다채로운 활동을 통해 소백산의 봄을 오감으로 느낄 수 있다.

이어 오전 11시에는 죽령 장승공원에서 ‘죽령 장승제’가, 낮 12시에는 전설 속 장군을 기리는 ‘죽죽제의’가 개최돼 전통문화의 향기를 더할 예정이다.

도심 속 축제 열기는 영일둔치에서 이어진다. 오후 1시에는 전통 민속놀이인 ‘덴동어미 화전놀이’ 공연이 펼쳐지고, 오후 2시부터는 ‘For:Rest 피크닉 콘서트’가 열려 봄의 낭만을 더한다.

이외에도 △철쭉 사진전 △어린이 직업체험 △밧줄 체험 △페이스페인팅 △캐리커처 등 가족 단위 방문객들을 위한 체험형 프로그램들이 풍성하게 마련됐다. 특히 ‘가가호호 : 우리 소백’ 프로그램에서는 가족들이 돗자리에 둘러앉아 책을 읽고 이야기를 나누며 따뜻한 시간을 보낼 수 있다.

축제의 하이라이트인 개막식은 저녁 6시에 시작된다. 이날 무대에는 가수 이지요와 히든싱어 출연자 싸이렌, 감성 팝 아티스트 치즈(Cheeze)가 출연해 축제의 분위기를 뜨겁게 달굴 예정이다.

이튿날인 6월 1일에도 소백산과 영일둔치 일원에서는 안전캠페인, 사진전, 어린이 체험, 놀이 프로그램 등이 이어져 방문객들의 즐거움을 배가시킨다. 오후 1시에는 ‘For:Rest 콘서트’ 3·4회차가 진행되며, 철쭉 레크리에이션과 함께 오후 6시부터는 ‘철쭉콘서트’가 화려한 피날레를 장식한다. 이 무대에는 히든싱어 출신 감성 보컬 편해준, 트로트 가수 문초희, 인기 그룹 V.O.S가 출연해 관객의 눈과 귀를 사로잡을 예정이다.
