【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구의 거리 곳곳에서 청소년을 향한 따뜻한 동행이 이어지고 있다. 

대구광역시행복진흥사회서비스원이 운영하는 이동형 청소년쉼터 ‘다온’이 위기 상황에 놓인 청소년들을 조기에 발굴하고 상담·보호·교육 등 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하며 현장 밀착형 복지 모델로 주목받고 있다.

‘다온’은 45인승 대형버스를 개조해 만든 이동형 일시쉼터로, 9세부터 24세 이하 청소년 누구나 무료로 이용할 수 있다.

버스 내부는 전문 상담 공간, 식사 및 휴식 공간으로 꾸며졌으며, 전문 상담사와 자원봉사자가 상주해 청소년들이 마음 편히 머물고 자신만의 속도로 회복할 수 있는 공간을 마련했다.

쉼터는 매주 화요일부터 토요일까지 달서구 7호광장, 동구 동호지구, 달성군 대실역, 북구 칠곡3지구, 중구 2·28기념중앙공원 등 대구 시내 주요 거점에서 운영되며, 거리상담·귀가지원·식사 및 생필품 제공·기관 연계 서비스 등 실질적인 지원을 펼친다. 

진로 탐색, 인권 교육, 가출 예방 캠페인 등 다양한 주제의 교육 프로그램도 함께 진행돼 청소년들의 자기 주도적 성장을 돕는다.

특히 ‘다온’은 학교 현장을 직접 찾아가는 ‘찾아가는 학교상담’ 프로그램을 운영하며 더욱 가까이 청소년들을 만난다. 

올해 상반기에는 학교 축제와 동아리 활동일 등에 맞춰 두 차례 운영되었으며, 생명존중 교육과 체험형 활동을 통해 위기 징후를 조기에 발견하고 적절한 지원 체계로 연계하는 성과를 거두었다. 하반기에도 해당 프로그램은 지속될 예정이다.

SNS(인스타그램, 페이스북, 유튜브, 카카오채널 등)를 통한 소통도 활발하다. 운영 일정과 장소를 정기적으로 게시하며, 사전 예약 없이도 누구나 버스를 방문해 상담을 받을 수 있도록 열려 있다.

‘다온’은 대구광역시와 여성가족부, 대구시교육청이 공동 위탁한 청소년 지원 사업으로, 대구행복진흥사회서비스원이 운영을 맡고 있다. 단순한 쉼터를 넘어, 거리 위 청소년이 일상을 회복하고 미래를 설계할 수 있는 ‘찾아가는 희망 공간’으로 자리매김하고 있다.

배기철 대구행복진흥사회서비스원 이사장은 “이동형 쉼터는 청소년의 눈높이에 맞춘 실질적인 현장 지원”이라며 “앞으로도 다온이 청소년들이 마음 편히 기댈 수 있는 따뜻한 동행이 될 수 있도록 지속적인 노력을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

Warm companionship for youth continues throughout the streets of Daegu.

The mobile youth shelter ‘Daon’ operated by the Daegu Metropolitan City Happiness Promotion Social Service Center is attracting attention as a field-oriented welfare model by early discovering youth in crisis situations and providing customized services such as counseling, protection, and education.

‘Daon’ is a mobile temporary shelter made by remodeling a 45-seat large bus, and any youth aged 9 to 24 can use it for free.

The interior of the bus is decorated with a professional counseling space, a dining and resting space, and professional counselors and volunteers are on site to provide a space where youth can stay comfortably and recover at their own pace.

The shelter is operated every Tuesday through Saturday at major locations in Daegu, including Dalseo-gu 7th Square, Dong-gu Dongho District, Dalseong-gun Daesil Station, Buk-gu Chilgok District 3, and Jung-gu 2/28 Memorial Central Park, and provides practical support such as street counseling, homecoming support, provision of meals and daily necessities, and agency linkage services.

Various educational programs on various topics, such as career exploration, human rights education, and runaway prevention campaigns, are also conducted to help youths grow independently.

In particular, ‘Daon’ operates the ‘School Counseling on the Go’ program, which visits schools directly, to meet youths more closely.

In the first half of this year, it was operated twice, corresponding to school festivals and club activity days, and achieved results in early detection of crisis signs and linking them to appropriate support systems through life respect education and experiential activities. The program is scheduled to continue in the second half of the year.

Communication through SNS (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Kakao Channel, etc.) is also active. The operating schedule and location are posted regularly, and anyone can visit the bus and receive counseling without prior reservation.

‘Daon’ is a youth support project jointly commissioned by Daegu Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, and is operated by the Daegu Happiness Promotion Social Service Center. Beyond a simple shelter, it has established itself as a ‘visiting space of hope’ where street youth can recover their daily lives and design their future.

Bae Ki-cheol, the director of the Daegu Happiness Promotion Social Service Center, said, “The mobile shelter is practical on-site support tailored to the eye level of youth,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts so that Daon can become a warm companion that youth can lean on with ease.”
