이번 사업은 지역 여행사들이 직접 기획한 1박 이상 체류형 야간여행 콘텐츠로, 포항의 대표 야경 명소에 이색 체험을 접목한 것이 특징이다.

관광객들은 영일대해수욕장과 국내 최초의 해상 누각이 만들어내는 해변 야경, 포스코의 산업 야경, 환호공원의 스페이스워크 등 포항을 대표하는 밤 풍경을 감상할 수 있으며, 이와 함께 ▲요트와 문보트 체험 ▲선상 낚시 ▲버스킹 공연 참여 ▲지역 맛집 탐방 등 풍성한 체험 활동도 즐길 수 있다.

포항시는 이번 야간관광상품이 여름철 야간 관광의 새로운 모델로 자리잡을 수 있도록 다양한 행정 지원을 이어간다는 방침이다. 특히 지역 음식점과 체험 프로그램을 연계한 체류형 관광객 유치를 통해 지역경제 활성화에도 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

포항시 관계자는 “포항의 밤은 철강 도시 특유의 산업 야경과 해양 도시의 낭만이 어우러진 독특한 매력을 지니고 있다”면서, “무더운 여름, 시원한 밤바람과 함께 포항의 색다른 야간 관광 콘텐츠를 만끽해보시길 바란다”고 말했다.
