【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회 의원연구단체 ‘유소년 스포츠와 미래’는 7월 15일(월) 오전, 시의회 3층 회의실에서 유소년 스포츠 정책 연구용역 중간보고회를 개최하고, 연구 경과 점검 및 향후 정책 방향에 대한 심도 있는 논의를 진행했다.

이날 보고회에는 김형철 대표의원을 비롯해 임주희, 최해곤, 양윤제, 이다영 의원 등 연구단체 소속 의원들과 연구진, 관련 공무원, 포항시체육회, 포항시청소년재단, 포항문화재단 관계자 등이 참석해 유소년 스포츠 육성과 운동선수의 지역 정착 방안에 대해 다양한 의견을 교환했다.

연구진은 보고회에서 ▲포항시 유소년 스포츠 현황과 과제 진단 ▲국내외 선진 사례 분석 ▲맞춤형 정책 대안 도출 등에 대한 중간 성과를 발표하며, 지역 특성과 행정 여건을 반영한 현실적이고 지속 가능한 정책 방향을 제시했다.

특히, 유소년 스포츠 전국대회 유치 전략 및 추진 방향에 대한 논의도 활발히 이뤄졌으며, 지역 스포츠 인프라 확충, 민관 협력체계 구축, 장기적 선수 육성 시스템 마련 등이 주요 과제로 제시됐다.

김형철 대표의원은 “이번 연구용역은 포항시 유소년 스포츠 발전의 초석을 다지는 중요한 과정”이라며 “현장의 목소리를 반영한 실효성 있는 정책이 마련될 수 있도록 끝까지 책임감 있게 추진해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “의원연구단체 ‘유소년 스포츠와 미래’는 앞으로도 지속적인 연구 활동과 집행부와의 협업을 통해 지역 체육환경 개선에 기여할 정책 제안을 이어갈 것”이라고 강조했다.

한편, 포항시의회는 지역사회 기반의 유소년 체육 활성화를 위한 제도적 지원과 지속가능한 정책 마련을 위해 다양한 분야의 연구 및 논의를 활발히 전개하고 있다.
