최연혜 사장은 지난 17일 오후 대구 본사 재난상황실에서 긴급 점검 회의를 주재하고, 하천 범람, 도로 유실, 산사태 등 집중호우로 인한 피해 가능성에 대비해 천연가스 공급 및 시설물 안전관리 현황을 면밀히 점검했다.

이에 따라 가스공사는 ▲전국 사업소 대상 현장 안전 점검 강화 ▲가스 공급 계통 및 기상청 특보 상황 실시간 모니터링 ▲침수 피해 대비 복구 자재·장비 사전 확보 ▲자체 비상연락망 운영 및 유관기관과의 협력체계 강화 등에 본격 착수했다.

최 사장은 “올봄 대형 산불에 이어 여름철 집중호우로 지반 침하와 산사태 위험이 커지고 있다”며 “현장 대응 과정에서 2차 피해가 발생하지 않도록 각별한 주의가 필요하다”고 강조했다. 이어 “빈틈없는 재난 대응 체계를 유지해, 천연가스 공급에 한 치의 차질도 없도록 만전을 기해달라”고 당부했다.

한편, 한국가스공사는 기상 상황에 따라 재난 대응 단계를 탄력적으로 조정하고, 공급시설 안전 점검을 수시로 실시해 국가 에너지 공급망의 안정성 확보에 총력을 다하고 있다.
