【브레이크뉴스 서구】이성현 기자=대구 서구청(구청장 류한국)은 본격적인 여름 휴가철과 방학 시즌을 맞아 오는 26일 오전 10시 30분부터 이현공원 물놀이장 일대에서 ‘제8회 가족사랑 아이스축제’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

도심 속 피서지로 인기를 끌고 있는 이현공원 어린이 물놀이장은 지난해 확장 공사를 통해 시설을 대폭 개선, 더 많은 주민들이 이용할 수 있는 공간으로 탈바꿈했다.

올해로 8회를 맞이한 이번 아이스축제는 무더운 여름을 이겨내고 가족 간 소통과 화합을 도모하기 위해 매년 열리는 서구의 대표 여름 축제다. 남녀노소 누구나 참여할 수 있도록 다채로운 체험과 문화공연이 준비돼 있어 주목된다.

축제는 ▲아이스풀, 얼음 성벽, 아이스 공방 등 시원한 체험이 가득한 ‘아이스존’ ▲얼음낚시, 물총 게임, 수박 게임 등 놀이형 프로그램이 마련된 ‘아이스챌린지’ ▲서핑 체험과 샌드클레이 놀이터 등 가족 단위 활동이 가능한 ‘뽀송뽀송체험’ ▲먹거리 부스, 체험 부스, 플리마켓 등으로 구성된 ‘아이스마켓’ 등 총 4개 테마로 진행된다.

본격적인 축제 시작에 앞서 식전 행사로 댄스 공연과 전통 변검 공연이 펼쳐지며, 개막식 이후에는 K-POP 댄스와 버스킹 공연 등 다양한 문화 콘텐츠가 축제 분위기를 더욱 고조시킬 예정이다.

류한국 서구청장은 “더위에 지친 주민들이 가족과 함께 시원하게 즐기며 소중한 추억을 만들 수 있는 시간이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 누구나 함께하고 공감할 수 있는 서구만의 여름 축제를 지속적으로 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 전했다.

Daegu Seo-gu Office (Head Ryu Han-guk) announced that it will hold the ‘8th Family Love Ice Festival’ at the Ihyeon Park Water Park area from 10:30 AM on the 26th, in time for the full-fledged summer vacation season and school break season.

The Ihyeon Park Children’s Water Park, popular as a summer retreat in the city, underwent expansion work last year to significantly improve its facilities, transforming it into a space that can be used by more residents.

This year’s 8th Ice Festival is Seo-gu’s representative summer festival held every year to help overcome the hot summer and promote communication and harmony among families. It is drawing attention as it offers diverse experiences and cultural performances that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can participate in.

The festival will be held under four themes: ▲‘Ice Zone’ filled with cool experiences such as ice pools, ice walls, and ice workshops; ▲‘Ice Challenge’ with play-type programs such as ice fishing, water gun games, and watermelon games; ▲‘Fluffy Experience’ with family-friendly activities such as surfing and sand clay playgrounds; and ▲‘Ice Market’ with food booths, experience booths, and flea markets.

Before the official start of the festival, dance performances and traditional swordsmanship performances will be held as pre-events, and after the opening ceremony, various cultural content such as K-POP dance and busking performances will further heighten the festival atmosphere.

Seo-gu Mayor Ryu Han-guk said, “I hope this will be a time when residents tired of the heat can enjoy themselves with their families and make precious memories,” and added, “We will continue to develop a summer festival unique to Seo-gu that everyone can participate in and relate to.”
