【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 도내 학교에서 '할매 할배 톡톡데이'를 활발히 운영하며 세대 간 공감과 감사의 문화를 넓혀가고 있다고 29일 밝혔다.

'할매 할배 톡톡데이'는 매주 토요일 학생들이 할머니·할아버지에게 손 편지나 문자 메시지, SNS, 카카오톡 등으로 안부를 묻고 감사의 마음을 전하는 인성교육 프로그램이다. 

학생들이 어른을 공경하는 마음과 가족 간 소통을 자연스럽게 배우도록 돕는 것이 핵심이다.

올해는 학교마다 가정과 연계해 참여를 활발히 이끌었고, 감사 나눔 영상 공모전 같은 활동도 함께 진행하며 학생들의 일상 속 실천을 유도했다.

한 학생은 "매주 할머니께 톡을 보내면서 예전보다 대화가 많아졌고, 작은 인사에도 기뻐하시는 모습을 보며 오히려 제가 더 감사한 마음을 느꼈다"고 말했다.

경북교육청은 이 프로그램을 통해 세대 간의 단절을 줄이고, 학생들이 가족에게 감사와 사랑을 표현하는 문화를 퍼뜨려 나가겠다는 계획이다.

더 나아가 건강한 가족관계와 공동체 중심의 태도를 기르는 데도 긍정적인 효과를 기대하고 있다.

임종식 교육감은 "간단한 메시지 한 통이 가족의 정을 되살리고, 세대 간 따뜻한 마음을 이어주는 중요한 실천이 되고 있다"며 "앞으로도 학교와 가정이 함께하는 '할매 할배 톡톡데이'가 꾸준히 이어지도록 적극 지원하겠다"고 말했다.
