【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구교통공사가 도시철도 2호선 대실역에 스마트도서관을 설치하고, 오는 8월 1일부터 본격 운영에 들어간다. 공사는 지난 7월 29일 업무협약식을 갖고 독서문화 확산과 생활 편의 증진을 위한 본격적인 준비에 착수했다.

대실역 스마트도서관은 지하 1층에 조성됐으며, 24시간 운영되는 무인 비대면 시스템으로 시민 누구나 자유롭게 도서를 대출하고 반납할 수 있다. 대구공공도서관 책이음 회원이라면 1인당 최대 3권까지, 15일간 약 400여 권의 장서 중 원하는 책을 이용할 수 있다.

특히 대실역에는 스마트도서관과 함께 무인민원발급기도 설치돼 도서 대출은 물론 각종 행정서류 발급까지 원스톱으로 해결 가능하다. 이에 따라 교통시설이 단순한 이동 수단을 넘어 시민들의 생활 편의를 높이는 복합문화공간으로 거듭나고 있다.

대구도시철도는 현재 반월당역, 중앙로역 등 총 12개 역사에서 스마트도서관을 운영 중이며, 경대병원역 등 4개 역사에는 자유롭게 책을 읽고 대출할 수 있는 ‘행복문고’도 마련돼 있다. 무인민원발급기 역시 대실역을 포함해 10개 역사에 설치돼 시민들의 접근성을 높이고 있다.

공사는 앞으로 지역 도서관 및 대학교와의 협업을 통해 기증 도서를 활용한 ‘공유서가’도 새롭게 조성할 계획이다. 이를 통해 도시철도를 단순한 교통수단을 넘어 지식이 순환하는 플랫폼으로 발전시키고, 시민들의 문화 접근 기회를 확대하겠다는 전략이다.
