【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자= 포항시는 본격적인 여름 폭염으로 수온이 상승함에 따라 고수온 피해를 최소화하기 위한 신속 대응체계에 돌입했다고 6일 밝혔다.

국립수산과학원은 지난 1일 경북 연안인 울진군 북면 나곡리 북단부터 경주시 남면 지경방파제 남단까지 고수온 주의보를 확대 발효했다. 포항시는 예년보다 이른 고수온 경보에 발맞춰 약 30억 원의 예산을 투입, 양식 어가에 대한 방제 장비와 물품을 신속히 지원하고, 시설 현대화 및 보험료 지원 등 다양한 대책을 추진 중이다.

현재 포항시에는 육상양식 39곳, 해상가두리 17곳, 축제식 6곳, 연승식 47곳 등 총 109개 양식장에서 강도다리, 조피볼락, 넙치 등 약 1,369만 마리의 수산 동물이 사육되고 있다.

이들 양식 어가는 액화산소공급기, 저층수공급장치, 히트펌프, 냉각기 등 1,970대의 방제 장비를 보유하고 있으며, 포항시는 장비의 효율적인 운용을 위해 현장 기술 지도 및 장비 점검을 강화하고 있다.

시는 또한 방제비 4천만 원을 투입해 얼음, 면역증강제 등 방제물품을 지원하고, 이상수온 대응 지원사업(3억 2,200만 원)을 통해 순환펌프 682대, 액화산소 670톤, 산소 용해기 6대, 수중교반기 4대 등을 현장에 공급했다.

지난 5일에는 김성범 해양수산부 차관이 포항 흥해 지역의 양식장을 방문, 어업인들의 애로사항을 청취하고 고수온 피해 예방을 당부했다. 이날 현장에서는 치어의 양식수산물재해보험 가입 기준을 기존 50g에서 20g으로 완화해줄 것을 건의했다. 현재는 50g 미만 치어는 보험 가입이 불가능해 피해 발생 시 어업인이 직접 손해를 감당해야 한다.

정철영 포항시 수산정책과장은 “반복되는 이상기후로 양식 어업인의 어려움이 커지고 있다”며 “가용 자원과 재정을 총동원해 고수온 피해 최소화에 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.

시는 이와 함께 양식수산물 재해보험 자부담금의 70%를 지원하는 보험료 지원사업(1억 6,100만 원)을 비롯해 △히트펌프 보급을 위한 양식장 친환경에너지보급사업(4억 5천만 원) △저층수 취수라인 개·보수 등 양식장 시설현대화사업(12억 2천만 원) △어류 면역력 강화를 위한 수산동물 예방백신공급사업(8억 2,900만 원) 등 다양한 재정 지원책도 병행하고 있다.
