23일 열린 1차 본회의에서는 조용진(김천), 김홍구(상주), 이철식(경산) 의원이 도정질문을 통해 도정과 교육행정 전반의 현안을 점검하고 정책 대안을 제시했다.

조용진 의원은 광역단위 혁신도시협의체 구성 및 공동대응, 산업 맞춤형 인재 육성과 특성화고 교육체계 개편, 교육협력체계 개선 및 퍼실리테이터 제도 신설 등을 질의했다. 김홍구 의원은 경북 경계지역 균형발전 지원사업, 농업용·배수로 개선 및 농업용수 재활용, 소방공무원 비상대기시설 확충 등을 다뤘다. 이철식 의원은 사통팔달 교통 인프라 확충과 자동차 부품기업 지원, 교육발전 특구 관련 현안 등을 질의하며 도정 개선을 촉구했다.

임시회 2차 본회의는 10월 2일 열리며, 다양한 현안에 대한 5분 자유발언을 시작으로 올해 행정사무감사 계획 승인과 함께 조례안, 출자·출연 동의안 등 60여 건의 안건을 처리할 예정이다.

최병준 부의장은 개회사에서 “이번 임시회는 행정사무감사 계획을 수립하고 도민 눈높이에 맞는 행정 서비스 집행 여부를 점검하는 등 의회 본연의 역할을 수행하는 중요한 기반이 될 것”이라고 강조했다. 이어 “남은 한 달 동안 긴장의 끈을 놓지 않고 모든 준비를 마무리하여 APEC 정상회의를 성공적으로 개최하자”며, 추석 명절을 맞아 교통·안전 대책과 수확철 농촌 일손 지원, 안전사고 예방에도 만전을 기할 것을 당부했다.
