시는 지난 9일 발행한 600억 원 규모 상품권이 조기 완판됨에 따라, 내달에도 동일한 할인율을 적용해 시민과 소상공인들에게 실질적인 혜택을 제공하고, 지역 골목상권 소비 촉진 효과를 이어간다는 방침이다.

포항시는 올해 당초 계획보다 500억 원을 늘려 총 3,000억 원 규모의 상품권을 발행한다. 연말까지 매월 초 상품권을 순차적으로 발행하며 13% 할인율을 유지해 지역 자금 역외 유출을 막고 소상공인 매출 증대, 지역경제 선순환 구조 강화에 기여할 예정이다.
