이 상은 대한민국의정대상·지방자치행정대상 조직위원회가 주관하며, 전국 지자체를 대상으로 공약 이행 수준, 투명성과 청렴성, 지역 특화 시책 등을 종합 평가해 우수 자치단체를 선정한다.

달서구는 민선 8기 이후 공약 이행과 청렴 행정, 특성화 정책 등 여러 분야에서 거둔 성과를 인정받았다.

6대 분야 59개 공약사업을 체계적으로 추진해 주민이 체감할 수 있는 변화를 이끌었다. 특히 구민평가단 운영과 홈페이지 공개 등 열린 행정을 통해 한국매니페스토실천본부가 주관하는 '전국기초단체장 공약이행평가'에서 2년 연속 최고등급(SA)을 받았다.

청렴도 평가에서도 전국에서 유일하게 12번째 '우수기관'으로 선정돼 신뢰 행정을 이어가고 있다.

도시경쟁력과 미래 대응 성과도 눈에 띈다. 달서구는 대구·경북 기초단체 최초로 국토교통부 '스마트도시 인증'과 재인증을 모두 획득했으며, 기후위기 대응 노력으로 대구 최초 '그린시티'에도 이름을 올렸다.

이태훈 달서구청장은 "이번 수상은 민선 8기를 포함해 지난 9년간 54만 구민과 1천여 공직자가 함께 만든 성과"라며 "앞으로도 투명하고 책임 있는 행정으로 주민 신뢰에 보답하고, 지방시대에 경쟁력 있는 달서구를 만들어 가겠다"고 말했다.

Dalseo District systematically implemented 59 pledge projects in six key areas, resulting in tangible changes for residents. Notably, through open administration practices such as the operation of a citizen evaluation group and the launch of a website, Dalseo District received the highest grade (SA) in the "National Local Government Heads' Pledge Implementation Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters for two consecutive years.

Dalseo District also continued its trustworthy administration, being selected as an "Excellent Institution" for the 12th consecutive time in the integrity evaluation, the only one in the country.

The district's urban competitiveness and future readiness are also noteworthy. Dalseo-gu was the first local government in Daegu and Gyeongbuk to receive both "Smart City Certification" and recertification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. It was also named Daegu's first "Green City" for its efforts to address the climate crisis.

Dalseo-gu Mayor Lee Tae-hoon stated, "This award is the result of the combined efforts of 540,000 residents and over 1,000 public officials over the past nine years, including the eighth elected term.
