올해 처음 열린 행사는 지난 17일부터 19일까지 달성화석박물관 앞 광장에서 진행됐다.
‘캠핑과 피크닉이 만나는 축제’라는 콘셉트로, 캠핑카·텐트·밀키트 등 최신 트렌드를 한자리에서 만나볼 수 있었다.
100여 개 업체가 참여해 200여 개 부스를 운영했으며, ‘콤마나인’, ‘위오아웃도어’, ‘포레니아’ 등 유명 브랜드도 함께했다.
현장에는 용품 전시뿐 아니라 먹거리 구역, 플리마켓, 피크닉 체험존 등 다양한 프로그램이 마련됐다. 가족 단위 방문객을 위한 ‘캠핑버스킹’, ‘핑크모래 놀이터’, ‘캠핑 놀이터’ 등은 큰 인기를 끌며 주말 내내 북적였다.
또 행사 기간 인근 관광시설의 이용객 수도 눈에 띄게 늘었다. 국립대구과학관과 달성화석박물관은 입장료를 50% 할인해 관람객 유입을 확대했고, 특히 달성화석박물관은 3일간 하루 평균 900여 명이 방문하며 평소보다 3배 이상 늘어난 관람객을 기록했다.
최재훈 달성군수는 “달성군은 자연환경과 캠핑 인프라가 뛰어나 캠핑 산업의 중심지로 성장할 잠재력이 충분하다”며 “이번 행사를 계기로 지역 캠핑 산업이 더욱 활성화되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
