【브레이크뉴스 안동】이성현 기자=안동시(시장 권기창)는 일직면 운산리 몽실언니마을이 지난 10월 18일부터 이틀간 구미 금오산 대주차장에서 열린 2025 경상북도 문화마을이야기 박람회에서 ‘우수마을이야기 부문 대상’과 마을문화공연한마당 부문 우수상’을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

이번 박람회는 경상북도, 구미시, 대구신문이 공동 주최·주관했으며, 도내 21개 시·군 대표 문화마을이 참여해 지역의 고유한 문화자원과 공동체 활동을 공유·전시하는 자리였다.

안동시를 대표해 참가한 몽실언니마을은 권정생 작가의 문학정신을 계승한 마을로, '몽실언니'와 '강아지똥' 등의 문학 콘텐츠를 기반으로 주민 참여형 전시, 체험, 공연 프로그램을 선보였다.

특히 주민들이 직접 출연한 문학극 '강아지똥' 공연은 따뜻한 서사와 완성도 높은 연출로 관람객과 심사위원의 큰 호응을 얻어‘마을문화공연한마당 부문 우수상’을 수상했다. 또한 마을의 정체성과 이야기를 시각적으로 구성한 홍보관 전시와 체험형 콘텐츠가 높은 평가를 받아 ‘우수마을이야기 부문 대상’의 영예를 안았다.

안동시 관계자는 “몽실언니마을은 문학을 매개로 한 마을공동체의 문화적 역량을 보여준 모범 사례”라며, “이번 수상을 계기로 문학과 문화가 어우러진 마을공동체 모델을 확산하고, 시민과 함께 성장하는 문화도시 안동의 위상을 높여가겠다”고 말했다.

Andong City (Mayor Kwon Ki-chang) announced that Mongsil Sister Village in Unsan-ri, Iljik-myeon, won the Grand Prize in the "Excellent Village Story" category and the Excellence Award in the Village Cultural Performance category at the 2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Cultural Village Story Expo, held at the Geumosan Mountain Parking Lot in Gumi for two days from October 18th.

This expo was co-hosted and organized by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Gumi City, and the Daegu Shinmun. Representative cultural villages from 21 cities and counties across the province participated, sharing and showcasing their unique cultural resources and community activities.

Mongsil Sister Village, representing Andong City, embodies the literary spirit of author Kwon Jeong-saeng. Based on literary content such as "Mongsil Sister" and "Puppy Poop," the village presented participatory exhibitions, experiences, and performances for residents.

In particular, the literary play "Dog Poop," featuring the residents themselves, received a warm narrative and high-quality production, earning a warm response from both the audience and the judges. It won the Excellence Award in the Village Culture Performance category. Furthermore, the promotional exhibition and experiential content, which visually presented the village's identity and story, were highly praised, earning the honor of the Grand Prize in the Excellent Village Story category.

An Andong City official stated, "Mongsil Sister Village is a model that demonstrates the cultural capacity of a village community through literature."
