이번 정식에는 올해 12월 준공 예정인 창평리 임대형 스마트팜단지 입주 교육생 9명이 참여해 서양계 토마토 ‘데이로스(Daylos)’ 4000주를 심었다.

데이로스 품종은 봄, 가을, 겨울 완숙 토마토로 출하되며, 껍질이 단단해 햄버거와 샌드위치 등 요리에 적합하다. 바이러스에 강해 최근 농가에서 선호도가 높다.

군은 4월 준공된 경영실습 임대농장에서 이미 토마토 1작기를 재배한 경험이 있으며, 이번 정식은 내년 1월 창평리 임대형 스마트팜단지 입주 교육생들이 실전 재배 기술을 습득할 수 있도록 기획됐다.

정식과 함께 토마토 분야 농업마이스터와 전문강사가 참여해 12월 말까지 6회에 걸쳐 양액제조 및 급·배양액 관리, 유인 끈 설치와 줄기 고정, 개화기 환경관리 및 병해충 방제, 곁순 제거와 수형관리, 착과 후 과실재배 환경관리 등 전 주기 실습교육을 실시한다.

장영숙 농업기술과장은 “이번 실습교육을 통해 교육생들이 단계별로 토마토 재배 전 과정을 습득할 수 있는 소중한 기회가 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 작물 특성에 맞춘 실습교육을 강화해 입주 교육생들이 임대형 스마트팜단지에 안정적으로 정착하도록 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Bonghwa County held a tomato planting ceremony on the 24th at the smart farming greenhouse of the Young Entrepreneur Farmers' Management Practical Training Farm in Geumbong-ri, Bongseong-myeon.

Nine trainees from the Changpyeong-ri Smart Farm Rental Complex, scheduled for completion in December of this year, participated in the planting ceremony and planted 4,000 Western-style "Daylos" tomatoes.

The Daylos variety ripens in spring, fall, and winter. Its firm skin makes it ideal for dishes like burgers and sandwiches. Its virus resistance has made it a popular choice among farmers.

The county has already cultivated one crop of tomatoes at the management practice rental farm completed in April. This planting ceremony was designed to provide trainees who will move into the Changpyeong-ri Smart Farm Rental Complex in January of next year with practical cultivation skills.

Along with the official program, tomato-related agricultural masters and expert instructors will participate in six sessions through the end of December, covering the entire cycle of practical training, including nutrient solution preparation and management, nutrient and nutrient solution management, trapping and stem fixation, environmental management and pest control during flowering, side shoot removal and tree shaping, and post-fruiting fruit cultivation environmental management.
