구체적으로 소상공인은 기존 5% 안팎이던 임대료율이 2.5%로, 중소기업은 3%로 각각 인하된다. 

감면 대상은 학교 매점, 식당, 자판기, 수영장 등 교육기관 내 시설을 임대 중인 소상공인과 중소기업이다. 납부기한은 최장 1년까지 연장되며, 연체료도 50% 줄어든다. 감면 신청은 11월 중 해당 기관을 통해 접수할 수 있고, 중소기업 또는 소상공인 확인서, 관련 증빙서류, 통장 사본 등을 제출해야 한다. 감면 금액은 환급 또는 계약 기간 연장 등 다양한 방법으로 지원될 예정이다.

강은희 대구시교육감은 “이번 임대료 감면이 지역 소상공인과 중소기업의 경제적 어려움을 덜고, 지역경제 회복에 힘이 되길 바란다”며 “교육청도 지역경제 활성화에 적극 나서겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu Metropolitan Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee stated, "I hope this rent reduction will alleviate the economic difficulties faced by local SMEs and small businesses and contribute to the recovery of the local economy. The Office of Education will also actively participate in revitalizing the local economy."
