이번 유치위원회 출범은 새 정부가 ‘공공기관 2차 이전’을 국정과제로 채택함에 따라 본격적인 이전 추진에 속도가 붙을 것으로 기대된다. 대구시는 지난 9월 1일 시의회와 경제·언론·학계 등 민간 전문가 22명으로 유치위원회를 구성했으며, 이날 첫 회의를 개최했다.

회의에 앞서 유치위원회는 ‘대구 미래성장, 국가균형발전 선도’를 다짐하는 결의문을 낭독하고, ‘대한민국 균형성장, 대구가 진짜 합니다’, ‘공공기관 2차 이전 최적지, 대구광역시’ 등의 손팻말을 들며 유치 의지를 다졌다.

대구시는 두 차례 정책연구를 통해 지역 혁신성장과 신산업 육성, 1차 이전 기관과의 연계 효과 등을 고려해 총 30개 공공기관을 중점 유치 대상으로 선정했다. 특히 중소기업 비중이 전국 최고 수준인 산업 구조와 1차 이전 기관인 신용보증기금과의 시너지를 감안해 IBK기업은행을 최우선 유치 대상으로 꼽았다.

또한 데이터산업진흥원, 한국산업기술진흥원 등 미래 신산업을 견인할 기관과 한국에너지기술평가원, 한국환경공단 등 지속가능한 성장을 지원할 기관들도 유치 대상에 포함됐다.

회의에서는 공공기관별 맞춤형 유치 전략을 구체화하는 한편, 국회·중앙부처·공공기관을 대상으로 한 유치 활동 방안도 논의됐다. 참석자들은 대구의 교통·교육·의료 등 우수한 정주 여건을 적극 홍보하기로 뜻을 모았다. 특히 전국 최고 수준의 수성구 학군과 높은 의대 진학률 등 교육 경쟁력이 유치의 강점으로 강조됐다.

한편 정부는 2026년 ‘공공기관 2차 이전 로드맵’을 확정하고, 2027년부터 청사 임차 및 공동청사 건립을 통해 지방 이전을 본격화할 계획이다. 대구시는 이에 발맞춰 신서혁신도시 잔여 부지, 법원·검찰청 후적지, 수성알파시티 등 유력 후보지를 선제적으로 발굴하고 있다.

김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행(행정부시장)은 “공공기관 2차 이전은 지역 균형발전과 청년 일자리 창출의 기회가 될 것”이라며 “대구가 국가균형발전의 중심축으로 도약할 수 있도록 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Furthermore, the bidders included institutions that will drive future new industries, such as the Data Industry Promotion Agency and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, as well as institutions that will support sustainable growth, such as the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning and the Korea Environment Corporation.

The meeting elaborated tailored strategies for attracting public institutions and discussed strategies for attracting the National Assembly, central government ministries, and public institutions. Participants agreed to actively promote Daegu's excellent residential environment, including transportation, education, and healthcare.
