이번 사업은 정부의 ‘기후위기 대응 및 지속 가능한 에너지 전환’ 정책에 부응하는 동시에 공사의 재정 자립 기반을 강화하기 위한 전략 사업으로, 탄소중립 실현과 수익 창출을 동시에 목표로 한다.
태양광 임대사업은 2025년 11월부터 2027년 5월까지 단계적으로 추진된다. 임대 대상지는 월배·안심차량기지를 제외한 문양차량기지와 칠곡차량기지로, 기지 내 주차장과 검수고 지붕, 유휴부지 등에서 최대한 사업 가능 공간을 발굴해 임대할 예정이다.
사업자는 약 5개월간의 공모 기간과 제안 심사 과정을 통해 선정되며, 임대료는 사업자가 제시한 금액을 기준으로 결정된다.
공사가 자체 분석한 예상 발전 규모는 4MW급으로, 연간 약 2,370톤의 탄소 배출 감축 효과가 기대된다. 이는 약 2억 원 상당의 연간 환경적 편익에 해당하는 수치로, ESG 경영 강화에도 크게 기여할 전망이다.
