【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈)가 교육부 ‘글로컬대학30’ 사업의 일환으로 베트남 현지에서 국제공동연구와 창업 교류를 추진하며 ‘K-MEDI 실크로드’ 기반의 글로벌 협력체계를 본격화했다.

대구한의대는 지난 10월 27일부터 11월 2일까지 호치민과 띠엔장 지역에서 ▲국제공동연구 협약 ▲시장 검증(글로벌 점프업 팩토리) ▲교육 확산(EDU-LAB) ▲공동창업(스타트업 링크) ▲기업지원(박람회 참가) 등 ‘연구–교육–창업–기업지원’을 아우르는 통합 프로그램을 운영했다.

호치민기술대학교(HCMUT)와 호치민 보건의학대학(UHS)과는 화장품·바이오헬스 분야 공동연구 협약을 체결했다. 양 기관은 연구 인프라를 공유하고 ▲한–베 복합식물추출물 효능 검증 ▲어성초 추출물 기반 여드름 개선 제품 개발 등을 공동 추진할 예정이다. 연구성과의 상용화와 더불어 교수·학생 교류, 인턴십, 국제심포지엄 개최 등 협력도 확대한다.

창업교육센터는 예비창업 학생들을 대상으로 ‘글로벌 점프업 팩토리 2025: Vietnam Edition’을 운영했다. 참가 학생들은 ‘K-뷰티 엑스포 베트남 2025’ 현장에서 현지 소비자와 바이어를 대상으로 제품 반응을 조사하고, 시장 진입 전략을 구체화했다.

띠엔장대학교(Tien Giang University)와는 학생·교직원 교류와 공동연구, 현지 기업 문제 해결 프로젝트로 구성된 ‘EDU-LAB 프로그램’을 공동 진행했다. 대구한의대와 띠엔장대, 메콩링크는 K-MEDI 프로젝트 확산을 위한 3자 협약도 체결했다.

참가 학생들은 띠엔장 지역의 대표 바이오기업 Thabico 그룹과 Tan Hoa Thanh 영농조합을 방문해 브랜딩 전략과 제품 리디자인을 제안했다. 현지 기업들은 학생들의 아이디어를 실무 적용이 가능한 수준으로 평가했다.

한방바이오창업보육센터는 띠엔장대와 함께 ‘2025 글로벌 스타트업 링크 프로그램’을 열고 양국 대학생들이 협업을 통해 창업 아이템을 개발했다. 최우수상은 ‘Niacinamide All-in-One Essence’를 제안한 ‘연균팀’이 수상했으며, 이 제품은 시제품 제작을 거쳐 베트남 시장 진출을 추진한다.

한편, 글로컬대학30 참여기업인 하니코스메틱은 ‘K-뷰티 엑스포 베트남 & 사이공 뷰티쇼 2025’에서 한방 브랜드 ‘JAAN’의 주요 제품을 선보이며 OEM·ODM 상담을 진행해 약 396만 달러의 상담 실적을 올렸다. 함께 참가한 담을, 미진화장품, 동우글로벌, 네이쳐보타닉스 등도 기술력과 제품 경쟁력을 인정받았다.

박수진 대구한의대 산학부총장은 “이번 베트남 프로그램은 지역 기반 혁신이 세계로 확장되는 글로컬 혁신대학의 모범 사례”라며 “K-MEDI를 중심으로 국제공동연구와 해외 창업 연계를 지속 확대해 글로벌 혁신 생태계를 구축하겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu Haany University Launches "K-MEDI Silk Road" in Vietnam

Daegu Haany University (President Byun Chang-hoon) has launched a global cooperative system based on the "K-MEDI Silk Road" by promoting international joint research and entrepreneurship exchanges in Vietnam as part of the Ministry of Education's "Glocal University 30" project.

From October 27 to November 2, Daegu Haany University operated an integrated program encompassing "research, education, entrepreneurship, and corporate support" in Ho Chi Minh City and Tien Giang. This program included: ▲international joint research agreements ▲market validation (Global Jump-Up Factory), ▲educational expansion (EDU-LAB), ▲joint entrepreneurship (Startup Link), and ▲enterprise support (participation in trade fairs).

Daegu Haany University signed a joint research agreement with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Health and Medicine (UHS) in the fields of cosmetics and biohealth. The two institutions plan to share research infrastructure and jointly pursue initiatives such as ▲ verifying the efficacy of a Korean-Vietnamese complex plant extract and ▲ developing an acne treatment product based on Houttuynia cordata extract. In addition to commercializing research findings, the two organizations will also expand cooperation through faculty and student exchanges, internships, and hosting international symposiums.

The Entrepreneurship Education Center hosted the "Global Jump Up Factory 2025: Vietnam Edition" for prospective entrepreneurship students. At the "K-Beauty Expo Vietnam 2025," participating students surveyed local consumers and buyers for product responses and refined market entry strategies.

The Center also collaborated with Tien Giang University on the "EDU-LAB Program," which included student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and local business problem-solving projects. Daegu University of Haany University, Tien Giang University, and Mekong Link also signed a three-party agreement to expand the K-MEDI project.

The participating students visited Thabico Group, a leading biotechnology company in the Tien Giang region, and Tan Hoa Thanh Agricultural Cooperative, where they proposed branding strategies and product redesigns. The local companies evaluated the students' ideas as being practical and applicable.

The Korean Medicine Bio Startup Incubation Center, in collaboration with Tien Giang University, hosted the "2025 Global Startup Link Program," where university students from both countries collaborated to develop startup products. The grand prize went to Team Yeongyun for their "Niacinamide All-in-One Essence," which is currently undergoing prototype production and is expected to enter the Vietnamese market.

Meanwhile, Hani Cosmetics, a participating company in the Glocal University 30 program, showcased key products from its Korean medicine brand "JAAN" at the "K-Beauty Expo Vietnam & Saigon Beauty Show 2025" and conducted OEM/ODM consultations, generating approximately $3.96 million in sales. Other participating companies, including Damul, Mijin Cosmetics, Dongwoo Global, and Nature Botanics, also received recognition for their technological prowess and product competitiveness.

Park Soo-jin, Vice President of Industry-Academic Cooperation at Daegu Haany University, said, "This Vietnam program is a model example of a global innovation university, where regional innovation expands globally." He added, "With K-MEDI at the center, we will continue to expand international joint research and overseas startup connections to build a global innovation ecosystem."
