【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시는 17일 오후 2시 한국섬유개발연구원에서 김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행 주재로 지역 섬유산업의 구조 고도화를 논의하는 산·학·연 간담회를 열었다.

이번 간담회는 지난달 24일 이재명 대통령의 대구 타운홀미팅에서 제시된 ‘친환경·미래형 섬유산업 전환’ 제안을 구체화하기 위해 마련됐다. 섬유 기업, 미래 신산업군 기업, 학계, 연구기관 등 20여 명이 참석해 산업 전환 전략과 협력 모델을 논의했다.

참석자들은 지역 섬유산업의 현황을 진단하고 ▲섬유산업 구조 고도화 전략 ▲미래 신산업군과의 연계 및 협력 방안 ▲친환경·미래형 산업 전환을 위한 정책 과제 등을 심도 있게 검토했다.

특히 섬유산업의 성장 정체가 이어지는 상황에서 핵심 소재기술 확보와 스트림 간 협력, 이종 산업과의 융합이 시급하다는 데 의견을 모았다.

대구시는 현장에서 제기된 의견을 바탕으로 산업 전환을 지원할 구체적 정책 방안을 마련할 계획이다.

김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행 행정부시장은 “대구 섬유산업은 산업화 시대의 주역이었고, 미래 신산업과의 융합을 통해 다시 한 번 도약할 잠재력이 크다”며 “친환경·미래형 산업 구조로 전환해 지역경제의 핵심 기반 산업으로 재정립할 수 있도록 총력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.

In particular, given the continued stagnation in the textile industry, they agreed on the urgent need to secure core material technologies, collaborate across streams, and integrate with other industries.

Daegu City plans to develop specific policy measures to support industrial transformation based on feedback raised on the ground.

Acting Daegu Mayor Kim Jeong-gi stated, "Daegu's textile industry was a key player during the industrialization era and has great potential for another leap forward through convergence with future new industries." He added, "We will dedicate all our efforts to transforming the city into an eco-friendly, future-oriented industrial structure and reestablishing it as a core pillar of the regional economy."
