【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=‘꿈의 무용단 대구북구’가 오는 29일 오후 3시, 어울아트센터 함지홀에서 첫 창단공연 〈Train No.3〉을 무대에 올린다.

이 무용단은 (재)행복북구문화재단(대표 박정숙)이 운영하며, 문화체육관광부와 한국문화예술교육진흥원이 주관하는 문화예술교육사업의 일환으로 창단됐다.

‘꿈의 무용단 대구북구’는 북구에 거주하는 초등학교 3학년부터 중학교 3학년까지 35명의 아동과 청소년이 참여하는 실용무용 기반의 무용단이다. 지난 5월 창단 이후 스트릿댄스를 중심으로 자기표현력과 창의적 사고, 협동심을 키우며 예술적·인성적 성장을 이어왔다.

이번 창단공연 〈Train No.3〉에서는 약 6개월간의 창작 활동을 바탕으로, 단원들이 춤으로 자신을 발견하고 서로의 성장을 확인하는 과정을 그려낸다. ‘북구에서 출발하는 대구 춤길 여행’을 부제로 내세우고, 도시철도 3호선을 모티브로 공연을 구성했다.

공연은 스트릿댄스의 성지로 알려진 팔거역, 배틀 문화가 활발한 칠곡운암역, 활기가 넘치는 매천시장역 등 3호선이 지나는 북구의 주요 풍경을 춤으로 재해석한다. 단원들은 북구 곳곳의 이야기를 음악과 동작으로 풀어내며, ‘미래를 향해 달리는 열차’처럼 각자의 리듬으로 나아가는 청소년들의 에너지를 무대에서 보여줄 예정이다.

박정숙 대표는 “도시철도 3호선을 배경으로 단원들의 지난 6개월간 성장의 흔적이 고스란히 담긴 작품”이라며 “작은 움직임 하나에도 아이들의 용기와 열정이 녹아 있으니 많은 관심과 응원을 부탁드린다”고 전했다.

The Dream Dance Company Daegu Buk-gu will present its inaugural performance, "Train No. 3," at 3:00 PM on the 29th at the Hamji Hall of the Eoul Arts Center.

The company is operated by the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation (Director Park Jeong-sook) and was founded as part of a cultural arts education project sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service.

The Dream Dance Company Daegu Buk-gu is a practical dance-based company comprised of 35 children and youth from third grade elementary school to third grade middle school living in Buk-gu. Since its founding in May, the company has fostered artistic and personal growth through street dance, fostering self-expression, creative thinking, and teamwork.

This inaugural performance, "Train No. 3," depicts the process of the members discovering themselves through dance and confirming each other's growth, based on approximately six months of creative work. Subtitled "A Daegu Dance Journey Departing from Buk-gu," the performance is inspired by Subway Line 3.

The performance reinterprets key scenes in Buk-gu, where Line 3 passes, through dance. These include Palgeo Station, known as a mecca for street dance; Chilgok Unam Station, known for its vibrant battle culture; and Maecheon Market Station, a vibrant area. The troupe members will tell stories from various locations in Buk-gu through music and movement, showcasing the energy of young people, each moving forward at their own pace, like a "train racing toward the future."

Director Park Jeong-sook stated, "This piece, set against the backdrop of Subway Line 3, captures the members' growth over the past six months. Even the smallest movements are infused with the children's courage and passion, so we ask for your continued interest and support."
