【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시는 지난 24일부터 이틀간 국회 소통관 앞 광장에서 ‘포항 미식 팝업홍보관’을 운영하고 25일 마무리했다고 밝혔다. 이번 행사는 국회를 방문한 의원, 정부·유관기관 관계자, 언론, 일반 시민들에게 포항의 미식 콘텐츠를 알리기 위해 마련됐다.

홍보관에는 포항 유네스코 창의도시 네트워크(미식 분야) 가입 추진, 외식업 특화 거리 홍보, ‘포항 10味’ 시식 체험 등 포항 외식산업의 대표 정책과 특화 지구를 한눈에 볼 수 있는 전시가 마련됐다. 특히 등푸른막회와 물회 등 ‘포항 10味’ 시식 프로그램은 방문객들의 큰 관심을 끌며 포항 해양 미식의 특징과 맛을 생생하게 전달했다.

‘AI x FoodTech Zone’에서는 휴머노이드 조리 로봇이 관람객에게 팝콘을 제공하는 시연이 진행돼 현장의 시선을 집중시켰다. 첨단기술 기반의 체험형 콘텐츠는 “포항이 지향하는 미래형 미식도시의 청사진을 보여줬다”는 평가를 받으며 국회 관계자들의 긍정적 반응을 이끌어냈다.

또한 ‘시그니처 디저트 존’에서는 지역 디저트를 소개하며 로컬 브랜드의 잠재력을 확인하는 기회가 됐다. 흥해라 이팝(이바비 그린술빵), 해풍미당(산딸기 캐러멜) 등 다양한 디저트가 전시돼 포항 미식의 새로운 확장 가능성을 보여주었다.

이강덕 포항시장은 “국회라는 상징적 공간에서 포항만의 미식과 디저트, 푸드테크 등 미래 식문화를 소개한 뜻깊은 자리였다”며 “포항의 미식 자원과 푸드테크 역량은 글로벌 식품 시장에서도 충분한 경쟁력을 갖추고 있다”고 강조했다. 이어 “앞으로 지역 식품산업 혁신과 글로벌 네트워크 확장을 가속화해 포항이 대한민국을 대표하는 글로벌 미식관광도시로 도약할 수 있도록 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
