해당 사업은 특허청과 경상북도가 공동으로 지원하고 포항상공회의소 경북지식재산센터가 주관하는 지식재산(IP) 기반 성장지원 프로그램으로, 자체 기술을 보유한 초기 창업기업의 기술 분석 및 권리화를 돕고 시장 경쟁력 확보와 지속성장 기반을 마련하는 것을 목표로 추진되고 있다.

지원 대상은 창업 7년 이내 기업으로, 선정 기업에게는 최대 100일간 맞춤형 컨설팅을 제공한다. 컨설팅 과정에서는 기업이 보유한 기술의 IP 관점 분석, 기술 경쟁력 진단, 권리화 전략 수립, 특허 출원 등이 체계적으로 진행된다.

올해는 포항시를 비롯해 경주시, 영천시, 경산시, 영덕군, 청도군, 울진군, 울릉군 등 경북 지역 8개 시·군에서 총 27개 창업기업이 참여했다. 이들 기업은 IP 기반 시장전략 수립, 사업화 전략 검토, 특허 확보 등 다양한 지원을 받았으며, 특히 신규 기술 발굴과 특허 출원까지 연계돼 실제 사업화 기반 강화에 실질적인 도움이 된 것으로 평가받고 있다.

이번 참여 기업 중 바이오 전문기업 ㈜비체담(대표 문호빈) 은 대표적인 우수 사례로 꼽힌다. 경산시 소재인 해당 기업은 신경퇴행성 질환 치료 기술 개발을 위한 핵심소재 관련 특허 확보를 지원받아 기술 우위를 공고히 했으며, 컨설팅 과정에서 정부지원 사업 연계 상담을 통해 ‘2025년 경북 글로벌 스타트업 패키지 성장지원사업’ 대상 기업으로 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다. 또한 기술보증기금으로부터 약 10억 원 규모의 투자 유치에도 성공했다.

포항상공회의소 관계자는 “올해 IP 나래 프로그램을 통해 초기 창업기업이 기술 경쟁력을 강화하고 시장 진입 기반을 확보하는 데 실질적인 성과가 있었다”며 “특히 기업의 발굴 기술이 실제 사업화와 투자 유치로 이어진 점은 큰 의미가 있다”고 평가했다.

Eligible companies are those founded within the past seven years, and selected companies will receive customized consulting for up to 100 days. This consulting process systematically analyzes the company's technology from an IP perspective, assesses its competitiveness, develops patent protection strategies, and prepares for patent applications.

This year, a total of 27 startups from eight cities and counties in the Gyeongbuk region, including Pohang, Gyeongju, Yeongcheon, Gyeongsan, Yeongdeok, Cheongdo, Uljin, and Ulleung, participated. These companies received diverse support, including establishing IP-based market strategies, reviewing commercialization strategies, and securing patents. The support, particularly the link between new technology discovery and patent filing, is considered to have substantially strengthened the foundation for commercialization.

Among the participating companies, the biotech company Bichedam (CEO Ho-bin Moon) stands out as a prime example. Located in Gyeongsan, the company solidified its technological edge by securing patents related to key materials for the development of neurodegenerative disease treatment technologies. During the consulting process, the company was selected for the "2025 Gyeongbuk Global Startup Package Growth Support Project" through consultations on government-supported projects. Furthermore, the company successfully secured approximately KRW 1 billion in investment from the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTIB).

A Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry official stated, "This year's IP Narae program has achieved tangible results in helping early-stage startups strengthen their technological competitiveness and secure a foundation for market entry. It is particularly significant that the companies' discovered technologies have led to actual commercialization and investment."
