온실가스 목표관리제는 '탄소중립기본법'에 따라 온실가스 배출이 많은 업체를 대상으로 감축 목표를 설정하고 배출량을 관리하는 제도다. 한국부동산원은 국토교통부로부터 실무 대행 기관으로 지정받아 2020년부터 온실가스 배출량이 업체 기준 5만tCO₂eq 이상, 사업장 기준 1.5만tCO₂eq 이상인 건설사를 대상으로 목표관리제를 운영해 왔다. 이를 통해 건설사들이 온실가스 감축목표를 차질 없이 이행할 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.

이번 협약 체결 업체들은 2024년 관리업체로 신규 지정되어 처음으로 연도별 감축목표를 설정했으며, 개정 지침에 따라 기존보다 강화된 목표 달성에 나설 예정이다. 목표관리 건설사들은 시공 방법 개선, 건설기계 운영 효율화 등 다양한 감축 방안을 마련하고 이를 현장에 적용할 계획이다.

한국부동산원 김남성 산업지원본부장은 “한국부동산원의 목표관리제 운영 노하우와 녹색건축 전문기관 역량을 활용해 건설업 부문의 온실가스 감축에 최선을 다할 것”이라며, “앞으로도 국토교통부와 협력하여 건설업 부문의 기후위기 대응 체계를 더욱 견고히 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Korea Real Estate Board Signs Greenhouse Gas Reduction Agreements with Four Construction Companies for 2026

Designated as a working-level agency by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, KREAB has been implementing the target management system since 2020 for construction companies with greenhouse gas emissions exceeding 50,000 tCO₂eq per company and 15,000 tCO₂eq per site. This supports construction companies in achieving their greenhouse gas reduction targets without a hitch.

The companies signed this agreement, newly designated as management companies in 2024, have set annual reduction targets for the first time and plan to achieve stronger targets in accordance with the revised guidelines. Target-managed construction companies plan to develop various reduction measures, such as improving construction methods and streamlining construction equipment operations, and implement them on-site.
