【브레이크뉴스 봉화】이성현 기자=경상북도 봉화군은 박현국 봉화군수가 ‘2025 한국 경제를 빛낸 인물&경영’ 시상식에서 경제발전 도시브랜드부문 수상자로 선정됐다고 27일 밝혔다.

이번 시상식은 서울 더 플라자 호텔 그랜드 볼룸에서 개최됐으며, 매경미디어그룹이 주최하고 과학기술정보통신부, 산업통상자원부, 중소벤처기업부 등이 후원했다. 시상식은 경제·사회·문화·예술 등 다양한 분야에서 발전을 이끌어온 인물과 지방자치단체장을 선정해 시상하는 행사다.

박 군수는 취임 이후 스마트팜 구축과 ICT 융합 기술 도입을 통해 농업 생산성을 높이고, 청년 창업농 지원 및 농가 경영 안정 체계 마련으로 지속 가능한 농촌경제 기반을 다졌다. 또한 특산물 브랜드화 및 유통 확대 전략을 추진해 농가 소득 증대에도 기여했다.

지역 산업 기반 강화에도 성과가 있었다. 중소기업 육성과 신산업 육성 전략으로 지역 경제 다변화와 일자리 창출을 추진했으며, 약 1조 5천억 원 규모의 국책사업인 봉화 양수발전소 유치에도 성공해 지역 성장 동력 확보에 중요한 역할을 했다.

문화·관광 분야에서도 두드러진 성과를 냈다. K-베트남밸리 조성으로 국제교류 기반을 마련했으며, 은어축제를 전국 대표 관광축제로 성장시키며 지역 브랜드 가치를 높였다.

이외에도 공공의료 확대, 복지 시스템 정비, 생활 SOC 확충, 주거환경 개선 등 주민 삶의 질 향상을 위한 정책도 병행하며 행정 신뢰도와 효율성을 높였다는 평가를 받았다.

박현국 군수는 수상 소감을 통해 “농촌이 살아야 국가가 산다는 신념으로 농업혁신, 글로벌 협력, 에너지 전환, 상생행정을 중심으로 정책을 펼쳐왔다”며 “남은 임기 동안 봉화군민의 더 나은 삶을 위해 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
