민주당은 지난해 발생한 내란 시도를 “헌정 질서 유린”으로 규정하며, “당시 국민이 힘을 모으지 않았다면 대한민국과 대구 시민 모두가 심각한 폭압에 노출될 뻔했다”고 경고했다. 

또 윤 전 대통령이 강행한 비상계엄에 대해서도 “헌법적 요건이나 법률적 근거를 갖추지 못했으며, 국회와 선거관리위원회마저 침탈했다”고 비판했다.

민주당은 “국민이 ‘빛의 혁명’으로 이를 막아내 민주주의의 승리를 이끌어냈다”며 “이번 사건에서 얻은 역사적 교훈을 잊어선 안 되고, 과거 친일파 청산 실패가 비극을 남겼듯, 내란의 잔재 또한 반드시 청산해야 한다”고 강조했다.

특히 민주당은 윤석열 세력이 계엄의 근거를 만들기 위해 북한 도발을 유도한 정황까지 드러났다고 주장했다. 

실제로 민주당에 따르면 지난해 10월부터 대북전단 살포와 군 동원을 통한 ‘전쟁 개시 명분’ 조성 시도가 있었던 것으로 알려졌다. 

민주당은 “만약 내란 시도가 그때 저지되지 않았다면 국가와 지역사회가 큰 위기에 빠질 뻔했다”고 밝혔다.

끝으로 민주당 대구시당은 “내란·외환 세력에 대한 단호한 역사적 심판과 더 성숙한 민주주의 실현을 위해 끝까지 책임을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Democratic Party emphasized that "the people, through the 'Revolution of Light,' thwarted this rebellion, leading to the triumph of democracy." They added, "We must not forget the historical lessons learned from this incident. Just as the failure to liquidate pro-Japanese collaborators in the past left a tragic legacy, the remnants of the rebellion must also be liquidated."

In particular, the Democratic Party claimed that evidence had emerged suggesting that Yoon Seok-yeol's forces had instigated North Korean provocations to establish a justification for martial law.

According to the Democratic Party, attempts had been made since October of last year to create a "justification for war" through the distribution of anti-North Korean leaflets and the mobilization of the military.

The Democratic Party stated, "If the attempted rebellion had not been stopped at that time, the nation and local communities would have been in grave danger."

Finally, the Daegu City Chapter of the Democratic Party stated, "We will fulfill our responsibility to the end to ensure a stern historical judgment on the forces of rebellion and foreign exchange and to realize a more mature democracy."
