【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 12월 1일 교내 백주년기념관 3층 교무위원회의실에서 경주지역 9개 특성화고등학교 교장 및 진로 담당 교원을 초청해 ‘동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스-경주지역 특성화고등학교 상호협력 협약’을 체결했다고 2일 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 지역 교육기관 간 협력 기반을 강화하고 특성화고 학생들의 진로 설계, 진학 및 취업 역량 강화를 지원하기 위한 취지에서 추진됐다.

행사는 내빈 소개를 시작으로 환영사, 답사, 대학 소개, 협약 내용 발표, 협약서 서명 및 교환, 기념품 전달, 기념촬영 순으로 진행됐으며, 참석자들은 대학과 고교 간 유기적 연계 필요성에 공감하며 협력 확대 의지를 공유했다.

협약에 따라 양 기관은 ▲경상북도 및 경주지역 특화산업 분야 맞춤형 인재 양성 ▲공동 교육과정 개발 ▲학생 맞춤형 진로·진학 프로그램 운영 ▲산학협력 기반 취업 연계 및 지역 정착 지원 ▲교육·연구 인프라 공동 활용 등 다양한 사업을 추진할 계획이다.

이를 통해 지역 내 청년 인재가 지역 산업 생태계와 연계돼 성장할 수 있는 ‘지역 정주형 인재 양성 모델’ 구축이 기대된다.

류완하 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 총장은 “이번 협약은 지역 특성화고 학생들이 자신의 진로를 구체화하고 미래 산업 수요에 맞는 전문성을 갖추는 데 실질적인 도움이 될 것”이라며 “대학의 연구·교육 자원을 지역 사회에 개방해 교육 협력 기반을 한층 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 최근 지자체, 산업계, 교육기관 등과의 협력을 확대하며 다양한 공동 프로젝트와 교육·연구 프로그램을 추진하고 있으며, 지역사회 기여 활동 또한 지속적으로 강화하고 있다.
