국립금오공대 도서관(관장 송지혜)은 3일 국립장애인도서관 주최로 서울 롯데호텔에서 열린 ‘2025년 도서관 장애인 서비스 유공자 시상식’에서 국립장애인도서관장상을 수상했다.

‘책나래 서비스’는 도서관 이용이 어려운 장애인, 국가유공자 상이자, 장기요양 대상자 등 정보 취약계층에게 도서관 자료를 무료로 배송하는 제도다. 2011년 국립장애인도서관이 시작한 이후 전국 1,190여 개 도서관이 참여하고 있으며, 국립금오공대는 2019년부터 해당 서비스를 운영해왔다.

국립장애인도서관은 우수 참여 기관의 노력을 알리고 서비스 활성화를 도모하기 위해 매년 권역별 우수 운영기관을 선정해 시상하고 있다. 올해는 전국 6개 권역에서 각 2곳씩 총 12개 기관이 선정됐으며, 경북·경남·울산 권역에서는 국립금오공대 도서관과 경북점자도서관이 이름을 올렸다.

송지혜 국립금오공대 도서관장은 “책나래 서비스 도입 이후 음성지원 및 점자 안내 기능이 포함된 무인 대출기, 높낮이 조절형 책상 등 장애인 친화적 환경을 구축해왔다”며 “이번 수상은 정보 접근권 보장을 위한 노력의 결과”라고 소감을 밝혔다. 이어 그는 “앞으로도 다양한 사회공헌형 서비스를 통해 이용자 누구나 차별 없이 도서관을 이용할 수 있는 환경을 조성하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT) (Acting President Kim Jong-bok) has been selected as an "Excellent Book Narae Service Institution" in recognition of its contributions to expanding information accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Kumoh National Institute of Technology Library (Director Song Ji-hye) received the National Library for Persons with Disabilities Director's Award at the "2025 Library Disability Service Awards Ceremony" held at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul on the 3rd, hosted by the National Library for Persons with Disabilities.

The "Book Narae Service" is a system that delivers library materials free of charge to individuals with disabilities, veterans, and those in long-term care who have difficulty accessing libraries. Since its launch in 2011 by the National Library for Persons with Disabilities, approximately 1,190 libraries nationwide have participated, and KIT has been operating the service since 2019.

The National Library for the Disabled annually selects and awards outstanding participating institutions by region to recognize their efforts and promote service innovation. This year, a total of 12 institutions were selected, two from each of six regions nationwide. The Kumoh National Institute of Technology Library and the Gyeongbuk Braille Library were selected from the Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan regions.

Song Ji-hye, Director of the Kumoh National Institute of Technology Library, said, "Since the introduction of the Booknarae service, we have been building a disability-friendly environment, including unmanned checkout machines with voice assistance and Braille guidance, and height-adjustable desks. This award is a testament to our efforts to ensure access to information." She added, "We will continue to create an environment where all users can use the library without discrimination through various social contribution services."
