【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시가 2026년도 정부 예산 확정에 따라 총 1조 1,293억 원 규모의 국·도비를 확보했다. 시는 5일 “지난 2일 국회에서 내년도 정부 예산안이 통과됨에 따라 확보된 국비는 9,546억 원, 도비는 1,747억 원”이라며 이같이 밝혔다. 이는 올해 동 기준 1조 1,047억 원(※APEC 국비 제외) 대비 246억 원 증가한 규모다.

경주시는 연초부터 국비 확보 전략회의를 지속적으로 열고, 김석기 국회의원실과 협력해 주요 사업의 필요성을 정부 부처와 국회에 설명해 왔다. 특히 예산 심사 막판 두 차례 국회 방문을 통해 지역 현안을 집중 건의한 결과, 국회 심의 과정에서 130억 원이 추가 반영됐다.

이번 확보 예산에는 도로망 확충과 지역 균형 발전을 위한 SOC 사업이 다수 포함됐다. 주요 반영 내역은 △농소~외동 국도 건설 225억 원 △양남~감포 국도 건설 143억 원 △양남~문무대왕 국도 건설 2억 원 등으로, 지역 교통 인프라 개선에 속도가 붙을 전망이다.

미래 먹거리 산업 육성을 위한 R&D 분야에서도 의미 있는 진전이 있었다. 신규 반영된 사업은 △SMR 제작지원센터 25억 원 △미래 자동차 편의·안전 기술 고도화 기반 구축 7억 원 등이며, △글로벌 원자력 공동캠퍼스 조성에도 23억 원이 배정됐다.

문화·관광 예산 확보 규모도 확대됐다. △신라왕경 핵심유적 복원·정비 251억 원 △신라왕경 디지털 복원 90억 원 △세계경주포럼 21억 원 등이 포함돼 역사문화 중심도시로서의 경쟁력이 한층 강화될 것으로 기대된다.

이와 함께 △혁신형 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 기술 개발 636억 원 △문무대왕과학연구소 설립 188억 원 △신재생에너지 분야 11억 원 등 미래 성장 기반 구축 예산도 반영됐다.

The budget for culture and tourism has also been expanded. KRW 25.1 billion for the restoration and maintenance of key Silla Royal Capital sites, KRW 9 billion for the digital restoration of the Silla Royal Capital, and KRW 2.1 billion for the World Gyeongju Forum are all included. These projects are expected to further strengthen Gyeongju's competitiveness as a hub of historical and cultural significance.
