【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=구미시는 9일 SRT 운영사인 국민철도 ㈜에스알(대표이사 직무대행 심영주)과 교통취약계층 지원 및 지역 상생협력을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이날 협약의 핵심은 ‘SRT 행복드림카’ 운영을 통한 교통약자 이동권 보장과 지역경제 활성화다.

‘SRT 행복드림카’는 수도권 상급병원을 이용해야 하는 시민들의 접근성을 높이기 위한 이동지원 차량으로, 구미시는 서비스 도입으로 돌봄 사각지대 해소와 공공 이동복지 강화 효과가 나타날 것으로 기대하고 있다.

이번 협약에 따라 ㈜에스알은 구미시에 ▲행복드림카 구입비 3,500만원 ▲농어촌 상생협력기금을 활용한 농가 신상품 개발비 600만원 ▲중소기업 제품 판로 확대 및 기술마켓 연계 지원금 1,980만원 ▲어린이 환경교육 도서 200여 권 등을 전달한다. 양 기관은 이를 기반으로 지역사회 참여 확대, 기업 연계 지원사업 발굴 등 공동 협력사업을 지속 추진하기로 했다.

김장호 구미시장은 "이번 협약이 교통약자의 이동 환경 개선뿐 아니라 지역 간 상생과 경제 활성화로 이어지길 바란다"며 “철도 운영기관의 전문성이 다양한 지역 협업 모델로 확장되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.

심영주 ㈜에스알 대표이사 직무대행은 “행복드림카가 교통약자 이동권 개선에 실질적인 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “구미시와 함께 지속가능한 지역 발전에 기여하는 파트너십을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 ㈜에스알은 경부·호남고속선을 비롯한 총 5개 노선을 운영하고 있으며, 6년 연속 지역사회공헌 인정기업에 선정되는 등 사회가치 확산 활동을 지속하고 있다.

Under this agreement, SR Co., Ltd. will provide Gumi City with: KRW 35 million for the purchase of the Happy Dream Car; KRW 6 million for the development of new products for farmers using the Rural Community Mutual Growth Fund; KRW 19.8 million to support SME product sales expansion and technology market linkage; and approximately 200 children's environmental education books. Building on this commitment, the two organizations agreed to continue joint projects, including expanding community engagement and identifying corporate support programs.

Gumi Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, "I hope this agreement will not only improve the transportation environment for people with disabilities but also foster regional coexistence and economic revitalization. I look forward to expanding the expertise of the railway operator into diverse regional collaboration models."

Sim Young-joo, Acting CEO of SR Co., Ltd., stated, "I hope the Happy Dream Car will contribute substantially to improving the mobility of people with disabilities. We will continue our partnership with Gumi City to contribute to sustainable regional development."

Meanwhile, SR Co., Ltd. operates a total of five routes, including the Gyeongbu and Honam high-speed railways, and continues to expand social value by being selected as a company recognized for its contribution to the local community for six consecutive years.
