【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=동해지방해양경찰청(청장 김인창)은 지난 15일 삼척 궁촌항 남방파제 테트라포드에서 해상으로 추락한 20대 남성을 신속히 구조했다고 밝혔다.

동해해경청에 따르면 이날 오후 8시 12분께 삼척 궁촌항 동방파제 테트라포드 사이에서 관광객인 20대 남성 A씨가 야간 낚시를 위해 이동하던 중 발을 헛디뎌 해상으로 추락했다는 신고가 접수됐다.

신고를 받은 동해해경청은 즉시 동해청 특공대와 동해해경 삼척파출소 해안 순찰팀을 현장으로 급파했다. 오후 8시 26분께 현장에 먼저 도착한 동해해경청 특공대가 추락자를 발견해 안전하게 긴급 구조했다.

구조된 A씨는 생명에는 지장이 없는 것으로 확인됐다.

동해해경청 관계자는 “항·포구나 방파제는 미끄럼 등으로 사고 위험이 큰 장소인 만큼 각별한 주의가 필요하다”며 “사고 예방을 위해 안전수칙을 반드시 준수해 주시기 바란다”고 당부했다. 이어 “앞으로도 국민의 생명과 안전을 지키기 위해 신속하고 철저한 구조 대응에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
