이번 용역은 의성군 내 산불 피해 임야 전반을 대상으로 △피해 현황 분석 △사례 조사 △현장 조사 △산림복구 계획 수립 등을 종합적으로 추진하기 위한 것으로, 착수보고회에서는 향후 용역 수행을 위한 기본 방향과 원칙, 추진 일정 등이 공유됐다.

아울러 의성군은 산불 피해 복구 과정에 전문가와 지역 주민의 의견을 폭넓게 반영하기 위해 학계, 임업 전문가, 임업단체, 지역 주민 대표 등으로 구성된 '의성군 산불피해 복원 지역협의회'를 구성하고 위원들을 위촉했다.

이날 보고회에서 지역협의회 위원들은 △조림 수종 선정 시 이해관계자 의견 수렴 △연차별 복구사업 우선순위 설정 △주민 소득과 연계 가능한 산림 활용 방안 등 다양한 의견을 제시했으며, 향후에도 수시 회의와 현장 방문을 통해 지속적인 자문을 이어가며 기본계획 수립에 반영할 예정이다.

김주수 의성군수는 “이번 착수보고회는 의성군 산림복구의 기본 방침을 설정하는 중요한 출발점”이라며 “경북연구원과 산림기술사사무소 호림, 그리고 지역협의회 위원들과 긴밀히 협력해 의성군 산림 회복을 위한 실효성 있고 완성도 높은 복구 계획을 마련하겠다”고 말했다.
