이번 수상은 친환경 농업, 식량 정책, 축산 경쟁력 강화 등 경주시 농정 전반이 체계적으로 추진되며 현장에서 실질적인 성과로 이어지고 있음을 보여주는 결과로 평가된다.

경주시는 농림축산식품부가 주관한 친환경농자재지원사업 우수기관 평가에서 우수상을 수상했다. 해당 평가는 전국 지방자치단체와 지역농협을 대상으로 비료 적정 사용과 토양개량제 공급 등 친환경농자재 지원사업 추진 실적을 종합적으로 평가한 것으로, 경주시는 사업 운영의 체계성과 현장 관리 역량에서 높은 점수를 받았다.

특히 전국 축산물브랜드 경진대회에서는 ‘전국 한우브랜드 경영체 부문 대상(대통령상)’을 수상하는 쾌거를 이뤘다. 농협경제지주가 주관하고 농식품부가 주최한 이번 대회는 전국 한우브랜드 경영체를 대상으로 공급 체계와 품질 관리, 브랜드 경쟁력, 위생·안전 관리 수준 등을 종합 평가한 행사로, 경주 한우 브랜드의 경쟁력을 전국적으로 인정받는 계기가 됐다.
