남구는 4일 “2025년 감염병 대응 평가에서 우리구 보건소의 체계적인 대응 역량과 예방 활동이 높이 평가돼 우수기관으로 이름을 올렸다”고 밝혔다.

이번 평가는 대구시 내 9개 구·군 보건소를 대상으로 신종 및 재출현 감염병 위기 대응 훈련, 감염병 사전예보제 운영, 대응 역량 강화 교육 참여도 등 8개 항목을 종합적으로 심사해 이뤄졌다.

남구는 지난해에 이어 올해도 연속으로 우수기관에 오르며 감염병 예방 및 대응 체계가 안정적으로 운영되고 있음을 다시 한 번 인정받았다. 특히 지역 특성과 주민 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 예방 활동과 감염병 취약시설을 대상으로 한 교육이 좋은 평가로 이어졌다는 분석이다.

이러한 노력은 주민들의 감염병 예방 인식을 높이고, 손 씻기 등 일상 방역 수칙이 자연스럽게 자리 잡을 수 있도록 해 지역사회 감염 확산을 미리 막는 데 기여한 것으로 평가된다.

남구보건소는 앞으로도 영유아, 어린이, 어르신 등 감염병에 취약한 계층을 직접 찾아가는 예방 교육을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다. 또, 주민 참여 중심의 홍보 활동도 강화해 감염병 예방 활동을 한층 확대한다는 방침이다.

조재구 남구청장은 “감염병 예방의 시작점은 생활 속에서 예방 수칙을 꾸준히 지키는 것”이라며, “모든 주민이 안심하고 활기차게 생활할 수 있도록 건강한 지역사회를 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
