‘경주형 에너지절약 인센티브제’는 전기요금과 도시가스 요금 인상에 따른 시민 부담을 완화하고, 일상생활 속 에너지 절약 문화를 확산하기 위해 마련된 시민 참여형 정책이다. 전기 또는 도시가스 사용량을 전년도 대비 일정 비율 이상 절감한 세대를 대상으로 인센티브를 제공한다.
지원 기준은 전기 또는 도시가스 사용량을 전년도와 비교해 5% 이상 절감한 세대에는 5만 원, 10% 이상 절감한 세대에는 10만 원의 포상금을 지급하는 방식이며, 지급 수단은 경주페이 또는 온누리상품권이다.
이번 포상 대상 94세대 가운데 전기 절감 분야는 5% 이상 절감 19세대를 포함해 총 28세대가 선정됐으며, 도시가스 절감 분야는 5% 이상 절감 19세대, 10% 이상 절감 47세대 등 총 66세대가 포함됐다.
앞서 경주시는 지난 2월 한 달간 인센티브제 참여 가구를 공개 모집했으며, 한국전력공사와 서라벌도시가스의 협조를 받아 전년도 대비 올해 에너지 사용량을 비교·분석해 최종 포상 대상을 확정했다.

Gyeongju City conducted an open recruitment process for households participating in the incentive program in February. With the cooperation of Korea Electric Power Corporation and Seorabeol City Gas, the city compared and analyzed this year's energy usage compared to the previous year to determine the final award recipients.
